On telecharge it has her name listed as being in the cast. I don't get why people aren't fans of hers. I think she's fabulous. Loved her in Batboy (her voice kicked *ss) and thought she did a great job in Hairspray. I saw her towards the beginning and again at the end of her run and she really grew into the character.
And, divas can't be divas with only one or two bway shows...
Heather Headley, Lea Salonga, Jennifer Holliday, Melba Moore, Shoshana Bean, Alice Ripley, etc, etc, etc
ok honey..you give me their names and i will go tell them. the name diva encompasses more than just one or two broadway shows. i.e. awards, cross medium appeal and public reception
avigdor- if you're referring to Kathy Brier as not having those types of credit (I couldn't tell if you were referring to her or the un-named divas from another post) I just wanted to point out that she does have more than one or two broadway shows.
Award recognition- she was nominated for an Emmy last year Cross medium appeal- she is on 2.9 million viewers televisions 5 days a week public reception-the audience loved her the nights I saw her in Hairspary, she was a stand-out in Batboy, and her character on One Life to Live was only suppose to be on for 5 episodes but people liked her so much she got signed for full-time.
I agree with you that just cause you're on Broadway doesn't neccisarally make you a diva...but there are a few of people with one credit who've made a big impact.
Shoshana BeanieBaby- Kathy Brier only has one Broadway show. Prince & The Pauper and Batboy were both off-Broadway. She's been involved in the community and with concerts. But Hairspray is it. But, hopefully, she'll tread the boards again soon.
Yes I'm aware that Bat Boy is an Off-Broadway show. thanks for the heads up any way. None the less Brier will be fabulous and I can't wait to see all of them....
kathy has loads of talent and i hope that one day she will have diva status. if she were a little more fashionable looking, she would be a great elle for legally blonde. she has that endearing, ditzy sincerity and she can carry a show. i think that rachel york is one of the few actresses that people make a fuss over where i actually get it. many of the players mentioned as divas and stars on these boards just leave me shaking my head. why are they stars? but rachel york, i get.
DIVA IS NOT A NEGATIVE THING! Only recently has that been attached to the title.
As far as I'm concerned, and the dictionary, it is a star of the highest caliber.
Stop making it out to mean BEEATCH!
Oh, and naming Shosana Bean as a DIVA is wrong.....SORRY. A gaggle of screaming High School girls doesn't make you a DIVA.

“I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>>
