Kathy Voytko as Diana?

Does anyone know if Marin Mazzie has any planned absences where Kathy is scheduled to go on as Diana? I know she just joined, but would love to see her as Diana!

Not too familiar with the understudies but is there just one Diana understudy?

Yes. There is one understudy for each role. Michael Berry covers the Doctors and Dan. Brian Crum cover Gabe and Henry. Mackenzie Mauzy covers Natalie. Kathy Voytko covers Diana. During a vacation a temporary understudy is hired. In the past it has been Sarah Uriate Berry for Diana. Curt Hansen for Gabe. Adam Kantor for Henry. Asa Somers for Dan. Michael McElroy for the Doctors.

McElroy covered the doctors for two weeks, but never went on.

Hansen covered Gabe for a week or two, and also never went on, but is going to be playing Gabe in the national tour.

They should have hired Brian Crum for the national tour. His Gabe (and Henry) are fantastic.

adamgreer, any idea who is playing Dan, the Doctors, or Henry on the national tour? And I'm assuming Emma Hunton is playing Natalie.

I spoke with her Sunday at the flea market and she said she has no planned performances between now and January and doesn't anticipate going on much, if at all.

Marin is a true trooper. She doesn't miss a performance unless she absolutely cannot perform.

I don't think Ripley or Mazzie can sing the role as it should be sung. However, they're extremely talented actresses.

Vocally, the role requires a strong mix, which neither performers have. The role requires someone a la Sherie Rene Scott or Andrea McArdle. McArdle NEEDS to be cast in this role.
