For those of us that don't live NYC and rely on Broadway tours for our theater entertainment, I was curious if anyone knew when the Kennedy Center and/or the National Theater would be announcing their upcoming 2014/2015 seasons? I know that the National Theater in D.C. is supposed to get Newsies. I'm hoping between the two venues they will get Motown, Kinky Boots, Dirty Dancing, and Once. Fortunately I have two other venues within easy driving distance- The Landmark Theater in Richmond VA and The Roanoke Performing Arts Center in Roanoke VA that have really stepped up the caliber of shows that they have been bringing to Virginia but I'm not sure when they will be announcing either. Any information would be greatly appreciated and for all those on the east coast like myself stay safe out there in this blizzard!! *******************
I live in-between RVA and DC and would love to know this as well! (PS, are you going to see Patti and Mandy next week?!)
Here's what I've seen on the websites so far:

No but I had thought about going to the Ford Theater to see the musical Violet.
Me too, I've been hearing great things from it. I just saw Gypsy (I LOVE Sherri L. Edelen) and Crimes of the Heart (AMAZING production). I'm seeing How to Succeed next week as well (because I want to see Sherri again).

You live in DC which has some of the finest theatre in the country and you rely on the tours of Broadway shows for your entertainment? I live in DC and go to the theatre twice a week and the only shows I don't see are the Broadway Tours. There are hundreds of theatre companies in the area, expand your horizons, you might be surprised.

^Agreed. I'm starting to fall in love with the theatre in DC and in Maryland and have met really wonderful people along the way!
I'm from NYC and I GO to DC for theater. I love the theaters down there.

I'm actually two hours from D.C. in the "middle of nowhere VA" and I don't know much about the local DC theater scene so I only rely upon things I've seen advertised which come in the form of The National Theater and The Kennedy Center primarily. I'd love to learn more about it though from some Washingtonians! :)
