Did anyone go to the Macy's thing? How was it and who was there?
I went, we were seeing Avenue Q.
We stopped by Macy's, and there was a number of floors with different activities. This is right off the paper we got:
42nd Street: Camp Broadway Dance Workshop
Fame on 42nd Street: Fame Karaoke!
Rent: NYC Tattoo Parlor
De La Guarda: "Zapateo" (stomping) lessons
Hairspray: Wig Stylings of the 1960s
Chicago: Fosse Dance Lessons
Never Gonna Dance: 1930s Dance Workshop
Little Shop of Horrors: Meet Audrey II! (Puppet & Puppeteer)
Wicked: Face to Face with Wicked: MAC Theatrical Make-up
Thoroughly Modern Millie: Be a Thoroughly Modern Broadway Star at the Photo Booth!
Autograph Alley!: Meet some of Broadway's brightest stars!
Aida: Hieroglyphic Bookmarks
Beauty and the Beast: Birthday Card Decoration
Disney Tatoos
Gypsy: "Uncle Jocko's Kiddie Hour" Mock Auditions
Wonderful Town: "A Place for Self Expression" - Art Contest
Phantom of the Opera: Get a Phantom Make-over!
- - - And that's what was on the paper. They also gave out $10.00 gift cards to Macy's. My friends and I just went to the Autograph Alley and met some people and then went to see the Audrey II puppet.

Who was there from Chicago?
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
awwww I wished i was at the macy's party thing. During the shows were there any annoyences with all the kids and all?
Nah- Avenue Q baby! Fantastic, one of the best shows I've ever seen. And the cast is so incredibly nice, let alone talented. That must be one of the most difficult shows to be in.

I didn't get to go to Macy's before hand ![]()
I saw Gypsy last night, and because of the horrendous weather, myself (and my family) arrived late, and many people came in after us. As for the kids, last night made me never want to go to another Kids Night again. They were so annoying! Talking during the performance was especially annoying. But Bernadette was phenomenal last night, which made up for everything.
I only visited the Autograph Alley and the Audrey II, but I can tell you what I saw.
The Hairspray booth had people trying on some of the wigs, and posing for pictures, etc. with some lady I guess who does the wigs. I don't think she was an actress.
The Never Gonna' Dance area had Denis Jones (Swing, Dance Captain) and Nili Bassman (I think) teaching some choreography to that "Start All Over Again" song.
I saw the Chicago people when we first arrived, they signed autographs, and then left later on.
I think the Wicked booth let you paint your face green. I saw this one girl with a green face on the streets, so I assume thats what it was.
But that was all we got to see since it was on a separate floors and it was spread out all around the huge store.
The Audrey II puppet was the 'Feed Me' puppet and it sang along and moved around to a bunch of songs, it was so scary when it would bite down really loud with this "thump!" A lot of the kids were watching it and seemed to like it.
Luckily I saw Avenue Q so it was basically all teenagers. No problems with talking or kids being obnoxious! Woooohooo!
Too bad you couldn't get eaten Joizey. I bet your dreams were dashed last night.
Lol! Good memory.
Nope, this plant was too small. It couldn't handle this. Plus, I didn't want to frighten the children.
Gypsy participated in Kid's Night??? Isn't it a bit..."bare" for young kids?
It sure did. And Bernadette is the Kids Night on Broadway Ambassador! Haha.
Avenue Q was in appropriate, too, but that show started at 8, unlike the rest which started at 7 for the youngins.

Was Bernadette Peters there for long? Or any other from the Gypsy cast?
Bernadette didn't even show up. My friends and I were pissed because we wanted to see her. She had this little article in the Kids Night insert in the Playbills.
We asked this woman who was announcing the Broadway names and she said Bernadette wasn't going to be showing up. Boo!
And I also heard: "--Shelle Williams of Aida is here" and I said to my friend: "Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child is here for Aida!"
But then we got up to the table and realized the girl was 'Shelle Williams' and she was the understudy. But that was okay, because she was insanely nice and bubbly as she autographed.
Also, Nessarose, Michelle Fer--whatever her last name is, from Wicked, was there when we got there.
There was also some people from De La Guarda, Wonderful Town, Never Gonna Dance, Aida, and Fame.

Well she normally gets to the theater about 2 hours before curtain to prepare mentally and physically for the show. Apparently she has a very intense physical and vocal warm-up. I'm not sure what time this pre-show Kids things was but I would imagine it was not over by 5 p.m. (2 hours before last night's curtain). Perhaps Bernadette felt she owed it to all those ticket holders to be at her best on stage (which was the focus of the evening) instead of showing up for the pre-show festivities. She contributed to the evening by making the commercial for it and a letter in the program. I think she got her priorities right.

I agree. I didn't think Bernadette would show up really for the reason you mentioned, which is why I didn't go!
