Since next weekend will be the last for Wayne Brady, I would like to try my luck with the lottery for Kinky Boots. It's nice that they allow you to pick multiple dates and let you know/buy a day in advance, like The Crucible I suppose. I have a few questions. For those who have won, where were the seats? Also, do you have to pay ticketmaster fee on top of the $37? Also, do they ever sell standing room (i.e. sold-out house) these days?
And a general seating question: is rear mezz better than (extreme) side orchestra for this show?
Thanks for any input!

The lotteries really can be anywhere but generally they are in the boxes.

In my experience the lotto seats have always been box seats...not sure about the rest, though (I won back b4 it was a Ticketmaster thing). :)
Have they announced Brady's replacement yet? Is he extending?

thanks so much for the input! I wonder if getting rear mezz with discount codes/TodayTix promo would provide me with better views than boxes? I haven't been inside the Al Hirschfeld theater...

And here's the info on replacement:

I actually like the boxes (I've sat in both left and right; you really don't miss anything despite them being technically "partial view"
, and would definitely recommend them over rear mezz, cuz that mezz goes pretty far back!! :)

thanks for the tips regarding boxes -- I'll wait and see how the lottery goes then!
I just got back from seeing Kinky Boots today and I won the lottery. The seats were box seats located on the right side. Not bad seats.

congrats on winning the lottery! Was there a ticketmaster fee for winners? Did they seat people in the outside (the one where you can't lean over the orchestra) section of the boxes?

The entire box seats (front and back) are the seats sold for the lottery- and no, there is no extra fee. it's just the basic lottery cost.

Thanks for the input! I will try my luck then. Of course, if they sell out, which is unlikely, standing room will be fine with me too.

I lost the lotto for yesterday so after I got done rushing another show, I decided to just stop by the box office and see if they had any cheap tickets for the matinee. Someone didn't claim their lottos seats, so I was able to get 2 for the matinee. They were the last row in the left boxes and they were very partial view. A lot of action happens far left on stage and we missed all of it. Plus if there's someone tall in any of the seats in front of you, forget it. You'll see even less and you'll spend the whole show moving back and forth between heads.
My friend won the lotto a while back. We were in the boxes. I didn't miss a thing. I have also seen the show from the rear mezzanine. Both views were great.
I paid a $5 service fee for my lottery tickets through ticketmaster.

thanks for the responses, everyone!
Have Kinky lottery seats remained the box sections?

When I won this past September I got a seat in the front row. Was awesome!
