How is Catherine Zeta-Jones perfect for this? There's NO WAY she can sing the score.
Come on, people.
She could EASILY sing and nail the Chita Rivera keys.

I couldn't agree more munkustrap. I really don't understand the American craze with CZJ: she's a DECENT actress, singer and dancer. No better than most swing performers. From what I have seen/heard of Night Music, she sounds completely out of her depth - lyrically, musically etc. She looks elegant and classy, but that's not enough to convince me she's a woman at the end of her career, resigning herself to the hand that fate dealt.
She definitely doesn't have the talent or charisma to pull off Spider Woman.

LMAO, ok!

I love people who judge performances they haven't seen.

I saw her and loved her in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, but there's no denying that she does not have a strong voice. She could barely make it through all of "Send in the Clowns".
I'm not saying that she doesn't have the vocal range for the score, but there's no way in hell she has a voice powerful enough for this show.
Sorry, but she does not have what it takes.

Me too, cos we all do it. For instance, you don't need to have seen Idina in The Royal Albert Hall 'Chess' to know she made a complete hash of it, you can hear it. Though, for your benefit, I did see her.
