Now, I'm not sure if any of you are aware of this, but a certain broadway radio DJ that we all know and love is producing The Last Five Years which just so happens to be opening tomorrow evening in Ottawa. I think many well wishes (and congratulations based on the videos)are in order. So Break a Leg Kris! Do you tell the producer break a leg or something else? Maybe "End the run in the red!" (just kidding). I wish you and everyone involved in the entire production well!

Kris I wish you ALL the best, what a gem you are and so great to meet you..
So when you get the chance Kris we all want to know how it went.
Hi guys!
Wow -- I've been away from the board since Monday and I came back to this, today. You're all SO sweet to think of me! I sent a link to this thread to the cast, too, and we're all flattered.
I finally got some sleep last night. Since the SURREAL Standing Ovations after-party (and the flight home at 7 AM on Monday), it's been non-stop last-minute preparation at the theatre. Last night was a smash success. I don't have the photos with me but will post a link tonight when I can: They're GORGEOUS. Based on the reactions from the press people I spoke to, the reviews will be outstanding, and hopefully we won't end the run in the red (we're remounting "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" in September [I'll be in that one] anyway, so if we end up in the hole on this one, we'll make up for it in spades)
I can't say enough about what working as a producer teaches you. I have never been more stressed out in my entire life, and I've never been so BROKE in my life, but the payoff is incredible. Sitting at the back of a house and watching an audience RAPT at something YOU helped make happen... it's an incredible feeling. I highly recommend the exquisite torture to anyone.

Okay, kids... this probably isn't terribly kosher, but since some of you have expressed an interest in what the show is like, I've posted a few images. Jamie is played by Mark Swift and Cathy is played by Nicole Milne. Our first review of several will appear in the paper tomorrow -- advance word is that it's very positive ![]()
It's NEVER too late for a road trip!
