Kristin is everywhere! Between the West Wing, her new album in april, The Apple Tree in May, all her new movies... NOt that I'm complaining. She's great and I'm totally happy for her with all her success

They're making Augusten Burroughs' book into a movie? Hmm. Personally, I would rather see Dry, but that's another story in itself. I wonder who Kristin is playing in this...

Yeah, it's difficult to imagine that story brought to the screen. Not sure what role Kristin's playing but doubtful it's a big one because Annette Benning and Gwynneth Paltrow have also been cast.

p.s. Why do people have to refer to her as "the Cheno"? It's so annoying.

The book was pretty amazing, but I wonder how the movie will be... well, it should be interesting.

I too wonder what Kristin's part will be.

I think that Julianne Moore is playing Augusten's mother. Maybe Kristin will play one of the Doctor's daughters.

Annette's playing the mother? Last I heard it was Julianne. Well, I could definitely see Annette in the part.

I'm just so glad that they're making this movie. Hopefully, a film version of "Dry" will follow.

I think she's going to have a bit part...it looks like all the main casting has been done (http://augusten.com/news.php - The cast looks good for the most part, but Evan Rachel Wood as Natalie? Doesn't fit.).

mef, I agree that Dry should be made into a movie as well. It's a better book, and I think it work very well as a movie.

I never would have pictured Joseph Fiennes as Neil Bookman. I can't wait to see La Redgrave as Joranne.

I think Fiennes could be a really good Bookman. I don't know why, but I think he has the ability to do it, though he wouldn't be the first person I would consider for the part. Evan Rachel Wood doesn't fit Natalie at all, though - Natalie is bigger than Wood (but maybe that's just me). Other than that, the cast looks great. (Maybe they'll cast Kristin as Fern?)

I'm getting excited for this now.. this, and Everything is Illuminated.

I've read on a few different websites that she's playing the role of Fern. That's the minister's wife who has a lesbian fling with Annette Bening's character.
I'm glad Kristin is branching out into films, but it seems a little hypocritical to go around the country on Women of Faith conferences and promote your Christian/Country cd while filming such a role. I just find that message confusing, I'm not sure many people will find the role entertaining.

ChickPea I'm having trouble with your logic. I haven't read the book so I'm not sure what's wrong with the character, except since you describe her as a lesbian I'm guessing that's why KC shouldn't play her? Cause that clashes with her Christian message?

So people can't perform as a character unless they approve of their behaviour? You do understand the idea of acting, right? I mean I'm sure KC doesn't believe in magic or sorcery yet she played a WITCH in Wicked. Was that confusing to you? I don't think Robert Preston was a con man when he played one in the Music Man. I'm not sure I endorse the idea that "good" people can only play "good" roles-- who's going to play villians?
