What clashes with her Christian message is that the character is a minister's wife. I find that offensive for her to get up on a stage and tell me that she's at this convention to promote God and Jesus and then do a movie role like this.

If you have not read the book....read it! It is a very good book and all true. Just met the author, Augusten Burroughs, a few months ago after several chats with him via e-mail. He announced that the movie was being done when he did his reading of his latest book "Magical Thinking" here in Denver at the LoDo Tattered Cover Bookstore and announced the casting at that point. For anyone that doesn't know, Running... is the first in a series of books he has written about his life. The second is called "Dry" and the 3rd, and current, book is called Magical thinking. He is also going to release a book on Christmas' from his childhood in between Magical... and the next book in the "series". Not sure if I can see Kristen as Fern, but I am sure she will pull it off.

Spooky...It is amazing that he came out of this a sane man! And that he can tell his story with humor. He does have his small quirks though and you can tell that he has not shaken all of the past events in his life. And he even spoke to that a bit at the reading. He did say that he is very happy with what is going on with the movie and he will be on set (If memory serves me correctly). And the rating was mentioned at the reading. Not sure what it will be. I hope they don't water the book down for the film. Yes the book is disturbing and I want to read it again before the movie is released but don't know if I can handle it!!!! Also, a side note, he told us what has happened to the people in his life and where they are today. He still has not talked to Bookman and he and his Mom talk but not a heck of a lot. She also lives near him. And he and his brother get along well.
