You know what, that was cold. Just because people have been in the show for a few years doesnt mean they can't get other jobs! thats just wrong to say, because believe it or not, these people ::gasp:: have talent!! And I think being in a show like RENT since 1998 IS something to gloat about, so I guess we'll never agree.

Sometimes, the truth is "cold" Mimi. It wasn't meant to be but if that's how you take it than fine. It's your choice. Don't you think it's time to expand your *own* horizons a bit? There's a whole big world out there, that does not revolve around Rent. It's pretty darn great too. You might want to see for yourself sometime.

Ok since you've made it so clear that you do not enjoy RENT, why do you still have to comment on it?

But you are so right. I have NEVER seen ANY other musical besides RENT, and I have certainly never read a STRAIGHT play! Imagine, a theatre without music! Ha! and since I have a favortie musical that I love and that I defend when people make unnecessary comments, that HAS to mean I have no concept of anything outside of RENT.
Good call.

Maybe it isn't good for an actor to stay in the same show for a long time, but I personally don't see why not. If you have a job that you like, you're good at and treats you well enough, why would you leave? It's one thing to not leave when you're bored or no longer fit the part. But, to keep up with analogies, wouldn't leaving a show where you're relative successful kind of be like getting promoted to a manager in a grocery store and then deciding that you've been there too long, so you quit and sit around and end up hoping you get hired as a cashier again?

Mimi, How are my comments any more *unecessary* than yours? Also, to be clear, being with the show since 98' is not a "few" years, it's more like half a decade. The last time I checked, I was under the impression that most of us commented on a plethora of topics. Even if we don't like said topic. Wow, what a novel idea.

Al, I wasn't referring to just your comments as being "unnecessary", it was a general comment on the crap some people say about RENT.
In any case, the point is, WHO CARES if an actor is in a show for a year, or a few years, or half a decade? I don't kno wwhy that bothers people or why its looked down on.
Oh well, like i said, i guess we just wont agree.

Phantom2, if you actually "got" the grocery bagger analogy you wouldn't have come up with your question about career women who have babies and decide to be stay at home mothers. That made NO sense and am still shaking my head in disbelief that that's what you came up with. What was the point of that question, except to bait me into some sort of answer that has nothing to do with anything?

Amneris- It's one thing to post opinions, it's another thing to trash shows and actors with "below the belt" comments. Look, you seem to have an issue with the things I write, why can't I have an issue with some of the things others have said, including you? Did I post anything mean? I thought not. Sorry, but I can't say the same for you.

FindingNamo- I got it, I got it...
My point was to emphasize that it isn't a step down for KLK to go back to RENT and it is an honor and a privilege to be asked to return. Was my point too simple for such a Broadway Legend like yourself? And I apologize to you Amneris, because you are a Broadway Star. I may have just gone from a Swing to a Chorus Member, but I know what I'm talking about.

Please, let's not be sarcastic. No one said they're not going to walk on stage but they may be less likely to be nice to you when you ask them to sign your Playbill. Then again, I think you said you weren't seeing Fiddler anyway so it doesn't really matter now, does it?

I would be delighted too.
First, it's only a "diminished capacity" because you said it was. Now as for my comment, being a corporate executive making a six figure income would be considered by many to be a BIG JOB. However, some women would give it all up to be a full-time wife and mother. My point very simply is both roles are EQUALLY, if not more important. Again, for her to be asked to return is both a privilege and an honor. Do you get it now?

okay...everyone here KNOWS You're a shill phantom so give it up... Im crushed to know that my plans of waiting to have my playbill signed after fiddler are ruined...the cast wont sign it because there will be a note posted backstage saying "don't sign Amneris's playbill she's a bitch". Im going to see Fiddler..not paying $100 for it though.

Have you ever seen the movie "Cruel Intentions", Amneris?
Now you're hitting below the belt with me. My point exactly.

Cruel Intentions is one of my favorite films actually... Im a big fan of Ms.Witerspoon... don't really like Sarah Michelle Gellar and don't really see your point because, Im not AS evil as Katherine was. It's just obvious to me that you've never posted on a message board before and can't understand why people "seem" to be cruel when they are really honest.

re: Kristen Lee Kelly Returns to Rent in 2004

That grocery bagger analogy was so not relevant. Jade and Nemo have made it VERY clear how they feel the current cast of RENT is, but obviosuly the show STILL touches people and there ARE people who do think its in great shape. I fyou dont agree, too bad. And as for RENT being a "joke", thje only jokes ive heard are from the people around here who can't stand it when a show doesnt close after the OBC leaves

Why do you feel you must play superhero and defend EVERY SINGLE little thing said against RENT? Most of the time your point is unmade, anyway.

Amneris- Again, why would you see a show when you think the producers are stupid and you're not happy with the cast? What are you going to do, stand at the stage door and tell them how terrible they are? Is that something you regularly do?

I really don't understand you... you obviously have some issues and you are the kind of person who will just not let up on things.. it's only going to get ugly... yes, I have it penciled in my calender "on march 2,2004 im going to the minskoff stage door to ask for the producers and tell Hodel to go back to the UK because im anti fiddler because phantom2 whos a shill in the show is turning something that was so small into something so big on a message board" and then lets see... tomorrow i might go over to "Chicago" and ask for Fran and Barry and tell them a thing or too on how my friend will be in ohio when Swayze is performing and it's not convenient for us to see him... then i might go over to the WOnderful Town stagedoor and tell donna murphy these very words "HOW DARE YOU GET THE FLU!!! SEE WHAT YOU DID?? YOU gAVE IT TO CHENOWETH AND ESPARZA!!!" Jesus christ...

Amneris, my point exactly. You wouldn't do that but you do post anything you want about actors and producers for EVERYONE to read. Isn't that the same thing? Why don't you just go up to them and tell them all how you realy feel if it's so right to have such "opinions." There is no reason to curse, those things upset Rob.
