ONE WORD... AWESOME !!!! She was absolutely amazing. Her vocal range is just astounding. She can sing it all. Country, Opera, Pop, Big Bang.... you name it !!!
Andrew Lippa at Piano btw...
Musical Numbers:
Act I:
"A GIRL LIKE ME"
"PARSLEY"
"DADDY"
JEROME KERN MEDLEY: (BILL, WHY I WAS BORN, NOBODY ELSE BUT ME)
"GOING TO THE DANCE WITH YOU"
"BOY"
"TAYLOR (THE LATTE BOY)- LOVE IT !! CROWD ATE IT UP !
"IF"
ACT II:
"SPREAD A LITTLE JOY"
"14 G"- ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING !!!
"POPULAR"- PART OF ELPHIE "PLAYED BY" NICOLE KIDMAN
"BORROWED ANGELS"- NEW SONG THAT WILL BE ON HER UPCOMING ALBUM. BEAUTIFUL BALLAD. SHE MENTIONED MICHAEL JETER AND OTHERS THAT HAVE PASSED BEFORE SINGING THIS. VERY TOUCHING
"FATSO"
"HARD TIMES"
ENCORES:
"GLITTER AND BE GAY"- BROUGHT THAT HOUSE DOWN !!!
"A RIDE HOME"- WRITTEN BY KC ABOUT HER DAD (WHO WAS SITTING IN FRONT ROW)
I DID NOT CATCH THE TITLE OF THE LAST SONG.
Rosie was in audience, as well as a few other celebs. Show was near sell-out. Some rear balcony end seats were available. I am still floored by her range. "Glitter and Be Gay" was something I will never forget live !!!
I believe there were a total of four standing ovations. Crowd really loved the show !!

""POPULAR"- PART OF ELPHIE "PLAYED BY" NICOLE KIDMAN..."
Really, how did that go? Nicole Kidman came all that way to say a couple of phrases?

I've known that Kristin Chenoweth is a truly one of kind, outstanding performer. She just proves herself each time she goes out there on stage. I have a feeling she'll be around for quite some time. She has a staying power that many Broadway stars of today lack. I know many people here don't care for her personality, but you can't deny the talent that's evident.
I'm so glad you had a great time at the show. I'm sure a debut like that was extremely exciting to witness. Wish I could have been there.
QUESTION! Was "Glitter and be Gay" anything similar to the 2001 video clip that's on her official site?

Posted: 9/11/04 at 12:07amBefore "Popular" started, Kristin told a little story of her filming "Bewitched" with Nicole Kidman. She made mention of "that ugly nose that Nicole had to wear in another movie".. so, Kristin, one day in her trailer, told Nicole to sit down so they were face to face, and sang "Popular" to her.

Kristin was totally adorable. I thought Boy was beautiful (what is that from?), also 14G, Glitter and be Gay, Popular, and the last song, Hard Times. I cried during the song she wrote for her dad, I thought it was so sweet. She is so genuine. I just love her. What a talent.
What other celebs were there besides Rosie and Alec Baldwin?
And WHAT was the with the drunk clapping/screaming guy in the side balcony? Yikes!

Joel Grey, Stephen Oremus, Marian Seldes, and Euan Morton (pretty sure it was him).
that clapping guy made me SO angry, I really was expecting Kristin to stop her song and ask him to quiet down. He gave a standing ovation to every song and loudly clapped through parts of songs! He would scream out things while she was telling stories in between songs. SO obnoxious.
Three ushers came over to him and asked him to quiet down, but guess he didn't get the hint.
Really liked the song that will be in Betty Boop.
and "Glitter and Be Gay" was even better than her performance in Candide in May.
Kristin seemed extremely touched and overwhelmed by the audience's reaction and received a standing ovation upon her entrance.
Her dresses were beautiful, first act was long pink one and second act was short, black and sparkeled pink.
amazing evening.

I wish I was thereeeeee.
My mom was like "Kellie, what if we don't like her at Tanglewood? Then we won't want to go" and I was like ITS KRISTIN CHENOWETH, WHY WOULDNT I LIKE HER?! And I told her if we didn't we could sell the tickets on E-Bay but nooooo.
*Sigh* I'm glad to see everyone had a good time. Sounds amazing.
Do you think they will possibly put out a CD like Bernadette did?

She was so great!!! That screaming guy really bothered me, though...especially during "Glitter and Be Gay." If you have to scream, at least do it between songs. And there were lots of people taking pictures there, so the flashes were a little annoying. I loved the song she wrote for her dad, I think it's called "A Ride Home." That was so sweet. And I loved "Boy," too! I've never heard it before. Maybe it'll be on her new album.
She came out the stage door about an hour and twenty minutes after the concert ended because she had a party inside. There were still so many people waiting, though! She was really sweet and signed for everyone and took pictures and stuff. That woman is so unbelievable.

Posted: 9/11/04 at 1:08pmWhy oh why didn't I get to go? Well I'm so thrilled that it was wonderful and those of you who attended enjoyed it. I'm also totally jealous to have missed it! And I adore Nicole Kidman so that would have been an adorable little bonus (though an Elphie she is not ....)
