Posted: 12/8/04 at 2:20amI wonder why Kristoffer Cusick didn't get a permanent position as Fiyero. He was the original Fiyero understudy and then Derrick Williams was added. Williams got the role in the tour and somebody else got the part on Broadway. Anyone know why?

Joey was really good (I won't say great, as he totally bombed As Long as You're Mine - he started in the wrong key and never really recovered) when I saw him too. Maybe the producers felt casting Joey was an oppurtunity they just couldn't pass up.
They haven't named a new Fiyero yet, so maybe he'll get his shot then, even if its on a temporary basis.

Posted: 12/8/04 at 3:12pmAlthough I am excited to see David Ayers, I asked myself the same thing. I thought Kristoffer's Fiyero was the best of the three (Norbert, Joey, and Kris) that I have seen. Not only is he an amazing performer but hes sexy and one of the sweetest people ever.

me too! i LOVE LOVE LOVE David. I got my tickets to go see him already. He's one of the sweetest, most talented men i know. I'm so happy for him. 
I loved Kristoffer too. I think he should've gotten the tour over Derrick, but i am happy for Derrick.

Because he did absolutely nothing for me in the role. He wasn't terrible, but his acting didn't seem sincere or natural, and I didn't feel anything from his character (as I did with Norbert and Joe). His voice is fine, but...eh. Elphaba3 used a good word: mediocre.

Posted: 12/12/04 at 12:21amI wish he would've gotten Fiyero. We have a mutual friend so when he was in Rent I got to hang out with him and watch a rehearsal before the show. He's very personable, not to mention amazingly sexy. Hopefully he'll get a bigger part in a show soon.
