"I guess L.A. is still indifferent about it's theatre after all."
I agree...Sucky thing to say...from elsgr8 on down, we have proven our love and enthusiasm for theater, have had some great theater out here in the West (including Old Globe and La Jolla that send great things to Broadway and elsewhere).
I would wager that many might have thought that there would be an evening show, or were simply out of town or ASLEEP. We OVERSOLD out this run and are proud of it.
Rant over....now pass me my Double-Double "Protein" Style.

We should organize a BwayWorld outing to see the show next year.
DG2, I agree w/ you in the top tier in the OCPAC. I took a hike up to see the view from there when I saw Lion king a few months ago. It took 1/2 of the intermission just to climb the stairs.

sorry, maybe I should have said that differently- I didn't mean to knock the L.A. theatregoers, especially as I am an L.A. theatregoer, just that I hear/read about all these huge NY crowds that get all overly emotional and such when a show is ending, or someone's leaving, and I thought I might see some of that here, but did not. Well I did see that one prayer circle in the lotto line one night, that was cool.

A BWW trip to Costa Mesa? Oooh. Sound promising! And, besides, I pratically live 20 or 30 minutes away from the theatre! Whoo!

Is anyone else in LA flying to SF to see Eden?

I got a job so I could go see Eden. I made a book about my struggle to see her...hours of pushing carts and bagging eggs. It's a best seller.

gavrochegirl - lucky you! I live no more than 10 minutes from the Pantages and that's why I was able to go so much. I don't think I'll go as crazy with trying lottos in Costa Mesa though. It's a bit further away and I doubt Stephanie will still be in it by then. I'd buy to go once if you all want to plan a date to go, I think I'd like to see Jenna play Elphaba since she's the only one I missed seeing.

All my friends are going to see it in Dallas. I hope that all the technical stuff is working then. I am going to try to get my friend in the tour (Erin Davie) to get them a backstage tour.

Hell, I'm flying over an entire ocean to see Eden. Well, not JUST to see Eden, but y'know if the plane has to stop over somewhere on the west coast before continuing on to the east coast, right when the tour's in SF, I may as well make the best of that, lol.

I am gonna try the lotto in San Fran on the 6, hopefully I will win, my cousin lives out there and she really wants to see it. The OCPAC is not really a good theatre for musicals or Opera, but it is close to where I live and I have performed there, it was cool. Who do you think will still be in the cast when it comes back to southern california? just wondering.

A BWW field trip to the OC to see Wicked in 2006? What a great idea! Count me in, the conversation would be worth the trip.
One question...will a trip to In-N-Out be included? First person to down a 4X4 (please tell me you know what a 'four by four' is, an amazing work of art I tell you) gets the best seats.
Give me a call

Ooooh, Rick! Forgot about the 4X4, never attempted one of those. I'll probably get the crappy seats then cause I'm known to order the kids meals when possible. Anything else is too much (plus it's cheaper and ya get a toy!) LOL

If the Costa Mesa theater is so awful to see a show in I'd be willing to make the extra drive to San Diego. I like it there better anyway :)

is the san diego theatre any better than OCPAC. It seems much bigger and has many more bad seats. I don't think OCPAC is that bad of a theatre. I sat inb the last row of the last balcony and it was just like seeing something from the last row of the mezz at the Pantages.
