Excuse me, Broadway Giant, but after 6 months on this board, why are you even asking this question? TL5Y has been discussed again and again, always in the most glowing terms. Where have you been???

Hell yeah!
This show is so simple and yet so brilliant... how does he do it?
This show is amazing. The music is brilliant. I saw a performance of the show, there's hardly any talking in the entire show. But the CD is definitely worth buying.

not only is the music/score amazing, but i love the spin on the classic love story. a truly amazing and brilliant show.
I don't know the ages, life situations, etc. of any of the other posters, but I can tell you as someone who's been married for about 5 years that JRB really hit the nail on the head with this one. The music's fun and catchy and immediately likeable, but he's also able to convey the sentiment of Sondheim's "Sorry/Grateful" and look at the emotions in greater depth. I can't tell you how many disagreements with my wife have left me thinking "Don't we get to be happy, Kathy? At some point down the line don't we get to relax without some new tsuris to push me yet further from you?" At the same time, I can't count how many times I've turned to her and commented "Have I mentioned today how lucky I am to be in love with you?"
There are so many beautiful moments there. "The Next Ten Minutes," a wedding proposal in the show, was the first song I sang to my daughter the night she was born.
In short, this is a CD that you will never regret buying. You'll listen to it over and over, never skipping a song, and finding it better with each hearing. I also recommend getting Lauren Kennedy's solo album of JRB songs to hear another spin on a few numbers.

Wow, I just bought this in part because of the raves in this thread. And can I say I have not been so happy with listening to popular opinion as this ever!
It has so much humor and heart, the emotion is great. Sherie and Norbert are just fantastic. I can hardly imagine not having these songs in my life before.
Its everything I love about music, literature and theatre and acting all in one place.
No question. A MUST have CD- For all the reasons listed previously.
