I'm attending Saturday's matinee of Avenue Q on a school trip. We are in Row H , which is Rear Mezz. How is the seating? Any help appreciated.

This has been asked many times.

The Golden is small.

It's fine.

If it was bad, they wouldn't sell it.

I disagree that "if [the seat} was bad, they wouldn't sell it." Many theatres have horrendous rear mezz/balcony seats and do sell them.

This is not the case in the GOlden. A very small theatre and all seats are good.

I've never encountered a terrible seat, except for those that are marked PARTIAL VIEW, especially at the St. James. I should have said, if the seat was terrible, they wouldn't sell it for $46 or so. That's why The Palace sells the balcony for $19.55.

I just sat in the very last row of the mezz section of the Golden this past weekend, and it was totally fine!! DEFINITELY still worth it!

I sat in Partial view seats for the Producers, I thought they were fine.

I remember seeing Aida at the Palace on a school trip in the very last row of the topc balcony(what do you expect for $5?) A couple of friends and I snuck down to the front of the balcony, but I thought it was still terrible! I remember just constantly looking at the top of their heads.

But I actually think the worst seats, the only seats I felt like I've missed action is the seats all the way on the side at the New Amsterdam. There were several scenes where we coudln't see characters who were right on the stage. The scene where Timon, Pumbaa and Simba are looking at the stars and talking ocmes to mind, we couldn't see Simba that whole scene.

The balcony is PETRIFYING at The Palace, it really is. I'm always afraid that I'm going to fall off.

wickedrentq: My partial view for THE PRODUCERS were absolutely terrible. I was about 4 or 5 rows back in the orchestra all the way against the wall on the left side. The curvature of the wall cut through my seat, so I had to sit with both of my legs to the right of my body, and the wall was cutting into my shoulder. I couldn't see ANY of stage right, but I had a spectacular view of offstage left, which irritated me to no end.

I sat row D of rear mezz for Avenue Q, 4 rows in front of yours and the seats were GREAT!!! So 4 rows back shouldn't make that big of a difference. It's such a small theatre..I was shocked when I walked in because this place's rear mezz is equivalent to some pretty good seats in a larger theatre..You'll love it.
AND YOU'RE SO LUCKY YOU HAVE A SCHOOL TRIP TO SEE AVENUE Q!!!! My school is seeing Blue Man Group as it's "fun event"...I'd choose Avenue Q over anything. :)

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

I just saw Q the first time on Tuesday night! I was in the mezz too but a little closer. All the seats are fine. I am short and i had no problem with anybody in front of me. The seating is very "steep".

Enjoy!!

Woah Munk, sorry about the Producers experience. I rushed my tickets and sat in the second row...I think 6 seats in. It wasn't perfect, if the chorus/dancers were spread out over the stage, one near us usually blocked what was going on in the center, I remember especially during "King of Broadway." But otherwise, I thought it was still cool to be so close. Then again, there were 2 seats to the right of us that I could understand if you're on the end it might have been worse from.
