Read the NYT review last night, and my husband and I said, "I hope this extends."
Have been searching Telecharge (at work!) and can get center orchestra Row B on the aisle. Is this going to be too close to the stage? I'm not familiar at all with the Vivian Beaumont. Would really appreciate some opinions on this.

Posted: 4/15/11 at 1:15pmThat should be a great seat. I sat there for South Pacific once and it was wonderful. This show is a little bigger than South Pacific, but I think it should still be a wonderful seat!

Thanks for your fast reply. I really appreciate it, and you've helped me decide. It's always nice to hear from someone who is familiar with the particular theatre, and since we only make it up from Columbus once a year, there are still a number of theaters we haven't been in.
Have you actually seen War Horse? If so, what was your impression?

Posted: 4/15/11 at 1:23pmI have seen Warhorse (not from as good a seat as you'll be getting) and I loved it. The puppetry was stunning and I cried almost the whole way through. It was just beautiful. For the record, the Beaumont is my favorite Broadway theater! Hope you enjoy the show as much as I did!

Posted: 4/15/11 at 1:32pmThanks for the feedback. I was reading the review thread on here, and it seems a lot of people are down on the play's sentimentality and think it's trite and simplistic. I wonder if this is just American cynicism peeking through or whether it really is a play worth shelling out $257 (for both of us) for. Productions cost so much these days that we have to be very selective in what we decide to see.

Posted: 4/15/11 at 2:06pmThe story is thin and cliche in parts but the whole production is a feast for the eyes! Would definitely say it is a not to miss show. IMHO.

I got the Row B center orchestra aisle seats for September. I hope it lives up to the hype! Somehow I'm thinking it will.
We now have three shows booked for our upcoming trip: War Horse, Book of Mormon, and Priscilla. Two slots left...thinking about Freud's Last Session. I really want Sleep No More to extend through Labor Day. If it does, I will book tickets faster than you can say Tony Award!

You will love Warhorse and for this one you cannot be too close to the stage.
Take some hankies.
