Well, I loved this revival. I saw it with the original cast (Hunter Foster, etc) and the new cast (Joey Fatone, etc) and enjoyed them both a lot. I loved the set and, of course, the plant. I felt the urchins were amazing. I was very sad to see it go. In other news, our school is doing "Little Shop of Horrors" and I'm playing Seymour, a role I've wanted to play for as long as I can remember, so this is pretty exciting for me.
Someone mentioned a child screaming at the end of Little Shop...
Time for me to tell my LSOH story that is basically a rant of stupid parents who don't know what to and what not to bring young children to. I saw the revival in front mezz, dead center, and a little girl who was probably either 4 of 5 years old was next to me. Now even before the show started she was a bit apprehensive, asking if it was gonna be scary, and the parents kept saying no don't worry. Well she was pretty scared throughout most of the first act and her parents kept trying to tell her no, it's not scary, it's funny, but I don't think a girl that young understands the humor involved. Anyway, after the plant ate Orin the girl was bawling...she already refused to leave her mother's laps. The parents finally wised up and left during intermission. Thank god for that, when I watched the plant eat Mushnik, I kept thinking thank god they left because this one was so much worse and the poor child would have been traumatized. Sometimes, I wish parents would further consider age-appropriateness and realize certain shows are not meant for little children to see. Grr.
End rant.
I agree wicked. It wasn't the theater but some parents brought their newborns and three year olds to fiding neverland. THey would not shut up and it was disturbing!
Completely agree. When I went to see Million Dollar Baby, there was this family with 2 kids who couldnt have been older then 5 in front of us. I felt kind of bad for them because they either didnt understand it or they were screaming when Maggie gets beat up in the boxing matches. I'm not one to judge, but who brings their kids who are that young to see a movie like Million Dollar Baby?
Cheers DickonDefysGravity. Anthony was a phenomenal Seymour. I just can't even begin to describe it. Plus he and Tari Kelly worked so well together onstage and his voice mixed well with everyone else's. Hearing him sing Feed Me with Micheal James Leslie was remarkable.

I've never heard Hunter so I couldn't say. I really wish Anthony were still part of the tour so I could have some chance of seeing him in the show live but what can you do? And if, by Joey, you mean Joey Fatone....good god don't get me started. I'll just rant on for ages then end up upsetting my gag reflex or something. :-P

Anthony is currently my favorite Seymour (just as the Equity tour cast is my current favorite cast) but that's just me.
I wish i could have seen anthony. I saw him in YAGMCB and i thought he was great. Why couldn;t he have done the role on bway?
It's sad, I've heard Anthony in almost everything he's been in recently-ish (RENT, LSoH, YAGMCB, all but Hedwig) but I've never SEEN it. I really hope I can see him live one day. In other words, he'd better get his ass back to the stage. (meant in a loving way of course :-P).
Anthony was a great Seymour but from what I hear, Hunter really deserved the role so I'm kind of glad it worked out the way it did. At least they both got to play Seymour at some point.
