re: LHOH deleted unhappy ending available

Wonderful! I was one of the lucky persons who got a copy of the DVD with the altered ending. But I'm glad it's been made accessible, cause it's SO vastly superior to the crappy "happy" ending in the movie.

Is it the black and white work print that was on the DVD or is it in color?

It's the B&W. Plus, the footage is kind of pixellated, but to me it made it look like an old print from the 1950s. I got a kick out of that! It really adds to the feel of the movie.

Thanks, Rose. I own the dvd, so I didn't want to take the time to download if it was the one I already had.

I enjoyed seeing it, but....

I now I'm in the minority when I say, it seemed to drag on and on and on....with Seymore on the roof, etc.

I actually prefer the original ending. I mean, some "Godzilla" moments were fun. Especially on the Statue of Liberty. But it seemed to be too much...and it was so anti-climatic compared to the music.

Frank Oz said on the commentary that it would have been more tightly edited when it was released.

THIS is the way the film should have ended. It's just better. It's what the show is. And what's funny is that this is the ending the film would have if it had been made today--in the disaster flick era.

They should just clean it up and rerelease the damn ending on dvd already.

re: LHOH deleted unhappy ending available

It was good, I would wish it to be re-released IF they tightened the ending a bit, it got so tedious.
If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.

Yeah Audrey 2 rampage was a little too long. If they could just edit that part, it would be great

while I'm happy to see the ending as it should have been, those voices are horrid! Was it so hard to have the voices of the 'dead' sing it? These voices remind me of cheesy Muppet background characters.

re: LHOH deleted unhappy ending available

Well I don't think that was the final mix of Don't Feed The Plants, as the CD track is much cleaner and doesn't sound as tinny. And I also imagine the Audrey2's rampaging felt long was there could possibly have been credits rolling over them and then THE END with them breaking the 4th wall really was the end. Don't know though.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
