I'm watching the old movie of Little Shop with Rick Moranas. Did he really do the vocals for this or were they dubbed?

He really did the vocals.

WOW! I can't believe you just called that movie "old!" I guess I better get my walker and head outta here.

Who knew Rick Moranis could sing like that??? I love it during "Feed Me" when he sings "I don't know, I don't knooowww! I have so, so many strong reservations, Should I go and perform mutilations" lol love it!

The OLD movie of Little Shop of Horrors has Jack Nicholson in it (small role). The one with Rick Moranis is the newer one, of the two.

The musical is nowhere near old, it's a great movie as well.

I like Rick Moranis's voice in the movie. I keep watching it every morning now that I've got it tivoed.

The musical version of LSOH rocks, even with the altered ending. I have a really cruddy VHS of it that I rip out to watch every now and then.

And yes, I was also impressed with Rick Moranis's singing.

... Speaking of Rick Moranis...

Where the HELL did he disappear off to? I miss him.

I know he's been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff (like producing)... but he hasn't really acted since the 1980s/early 90s. That makes me very sad, indeed.

Every once in awhile, I go on my "I MISS RICK MORANIS!" rants. re: LSOH movie question He rocked. So hard.

His Seymour is probably my favorite. Seymour's voice tends to get on my nerves a bit but his doesn't at all.

My highlight for that movie though was Steve Martin as Orin. I love him. re: LSOH movie question

Lari, I want to know where he is now too! I think this calls for a manhunt.

Steve Martin as Orin was absolutely hilarious! I loved how he punched out the poor sods in the waiting room. XD

And... Well, he did rock THAT hard.

Rick Moranis took a break from show business when his wife unexpectedly died about 7-8 years ago, right after the "Honey, I Shrunk..." movies. I think he decided to focus his time on caring for his kids at that point. If you want to see where he really began, rent the DVDs of "SDTV". It was this Saturday Night Live-esque TV show that lasted 2 seasons from 1981-1983. He was wonderful. He's a great comedic actor and surely is missed.

I think you mean SCTV. re: LSOH movie question

I enjoy Rick. He's done some voiceover work since those Shrunken movies.

Also, yes, I'm sure Steve Martin did his own vocal work in that movie.

I adore Ellen Greene in that film. One of those times when they made the right decision by casting the person who played the role on Broadway.

I loved Rick Moranis's Seymour! When I first rented LSoH, I'd only seen him in Honey I Shrunk the Kids (one of my favorite movies as a kid) and based off that, I wasn't sure about how well he could sing so I was a bit apprehenseive about it. I'd only listened to a live recording of the current tour (Anthony Rapp, Tari Kelly etc) and had pretty much fallen in love with that cast so I wasn't really too sure about the movie. But when you first hear Ellen Green and Rick Moranis in Downtown, I was very pleasantly surprised. I loved Rick Moranis as Seymour both acting wise and vocally speaking and Ellen Green has a great voice but to be completely honest she's not my favorite Audrey. The first time I saw her I found her voice slightly annoying at times, even though that's how Audrey is supposed to sound. It just kind of got on my nerves at first but she really grew on me. And Steve Martin as Orin was absolutely ****ing hilarious. Anyways yeah I really hope Rick Moranis comes back to the silver screen or maybe even stage soon.

All I care is that if Rick wants to make a comeback, he should do a revival of GODSPELL. His performance in the Toronto production back in the Seventies wasn't too bad (I've heard).

Anyone think Rick Moranis make a great Leo Bloom? Eventually they'll have to start star casting, and he'd be good enough to hold his own against any Max (maybe even Nathan Lane)!
