La Cage Aux Folles - current Broadway cast CD?

Does anybody know if they will be recording a CD for the current Broadway cast of La Cage? I looked on Amazon and it doesn't seem like this exists yet.

This question has come up several times here at BWW. In my last conversation with Jerry Herman, no such plans are in place. In fact, he's so happy with the obc recording that he isn't going out of his way to see that the new version gets recorded.

They will be recording it but not with Hodge. In his place will be Hunter Foster.

Good for them, givin it to a REAL actor whose been cuttin his teeth longer than douglas hodge. not my disrespect for the actor hodge because his tony was also "bought"

I hope that's a joke about Hunter Foster. I saw him in The Producers and was underwhelmed. Douglas Hodge, on the other hand, was absolutely terrific in La Cage. He deserved the Tony win, IMO. Why do you think his Tony was "bought?"

Mimi2 - The Hunter Foster comment was so clearly a joke. If they record, it will most certainly be with Hodge. Otherwise, it would just be pointless.

Wasn't there an announcement a while ago (when the production was still playing in London) that they were recording one? Whatever happened to that plan?

LOL, ColorTheHours! That was actually a good joke. You never know these days the crazy things people might do with cast albums, so it was very possible in my mind!
