THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW reviews
 Apr 23 2026, 09:28:33 PM

I think it’ll get pretty mixed reviews. Luke Evans is genuinely a bit of a revelation in this, and Amber Gray is menacing and bizarre in all the right ways, but I found almost everything else about it a little community theatre. And not really in a way I think they intended. (Oh, how I wish Harvey Guillen were replaced by a drag king.)

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

Mason could easily do a 2-3 month run as Mary before rehearsals for Much Ado even begin. That’s been the standard run for Marys, post-Cole.

Seaview Planning Cat on a Hot Tin Roof Broadway Revival Directed by Sam Gold
 Apr 21 2026, 10:06:41 AM

Curious to see who he ultimately casts. His Shakespeare revivals aside, I think he’s still one of our more exciting interpreters of what a “revival” can mean. I’m one of the few who actually liked his Glass Menagerie, but also Glass Menagerie is an all-around more interesting play (to me) than Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which I think is kind of a dud. Without two leads who almost combust with stage chemistry, it falls totally flat.

See Post #8. They mentioned more music in the Broadway versionwhich is why I posted that about the music.
"

I understand. Music wasn’t part of the cuts though. The “radio edit” version keeps all of the songs heard in the Broadway version (which are already truncated from the album songs, with the exception of “Bright (Take 22)” and “Masquerade&rdquo?format=auto&width=600 intact. The cuts made were to internal dialogue, pauses, and transitions.

Roundabout 26-27 Season: The Full Monty, The Heart, & More
 Apr 16 2026, 01:19:13 PM

My husband’s favorite musical is The Full Monty, so this is a big day in our household. Excited to see who they cast.

Also, I hope Kara Young continues to thrive as the reigning queen of New York City theatre for decades to come. If she could sing too, could you f*cking imagine the possibilities??

It played there for six weeks before moving to the UA Cinema Center, a sister theater. The reason it caught on in Los Angeles was simple: the show already had a huge local following thanks to the stage production that had played at the Roxy Theatre on the Strip. Because of that early success, many people assumed the movie would per

I would also recommend tracking resales on Theatr. In addition to actual resales, they often have official brokers offering discounted seats in bulk. I got a great, heavily discounted seat in the orchestra, but you may have to wait until closer to curtain time.

Lin-Manuel Miranda to direct film adaptation of OCTET

Films of this size are generally on a tight film schedule, not to mention that this is a crew of very booked and busy people. But there is a near 0% chance this is limited to a single unit set. At the very least, we’ll for sure see them in a forest.

Joy Woods as Sally Bowles

I’m in my mid-30’s, don’t care for Hadestown, and think Joy Woods is one of our best up-and-coming actor/singers. I’ve seen her in Little Shop, Notebook, and Gypsy and I’ve found her choices unexpected and displaying a level of vulnerability that others only indicate toward. I think she’ll be perfect for Sally.

Leslie manville on audience behavior ..
 Apr 9 2026, 11:48:27 AM

Lesley Manville is a tremendous actor, but this is an asinine take equivalent to saying “Kids these days!” Her irritation with the ubiquity of cell phones is the problem, not the number of people recording a curtain call. The vast majority of the audience is applauding without their phones up.

Sharing that you saw a show with friends or on social media is a vital marketing tool nowadays, like it or not. I’ve had friends tell me that they saw a particular show sim

I don’t think it needs to be as black and white as “all callbacks allowed” and “dead silent theater.” I haven’t seen this production yet, but I think it can feel electric and responsive without being literally disruptive to others around you. I’m personally perfectly capable of feeling stimulated by theatre without engaging vocally in it. I’ve seen Rocky Horror in the silence of my living room, with rowdy friends, at midnight showings, and

I really don't understand the problem proponents of callouts are having. The midnight screenings with shadow casts are their own thing, and they're available to attend pretty much any time you want. The show is different and predates any of the callouts. Yes, the last revival encouraged it, but this is something else. The piece stands on its own; I'm not throwing toilet paper or yelling insults at my TV when I watch the movie at home by myself or with friends and it's still a

Lin-Manuel Miranda to direct film adaptation of OCTET
 Apr 2 2026, 09:24:25 AM

Pretty exciting news. Tick Tick Boom was a show I never got into, but LMM's adaptation made it feel exciting and better than the material itself. Octet was a show I started out liking when I saw it, but felt lost its way toward the middle section, and definitely could have afforded to explode out of its production confines more. A movie adaptation could be exactly what it needs to fully click.
