Who knew Kelsey Grammer had a desire to drag up?
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Kelsey_Grammer_to_Get_Double_LA_CAGE_Billing_Will_star_as_Georges_and_Albin_on_Bway_20100311 I heard about this possibility a while back and was intrigued. I don't think Albin/Zaza necessarily has to have the best singing voice to be believable (ref Roger Allam's wonderful portrayal), but would be interested to see if Grammer has the acting chops to capture the vulnerability of the character. Personally I think he has.
Just out of interest (and probably hypothetically), if the show was still running after a year with Grammer receiving rave reviews as Albin, what would the rules on Tony eligibilty be? Replacement I presume? It just seems a very unusual circumstance.
Seen some shows in my time....
