La Cage Question
La Cage Question#0

Hey, I've never seen La Cage Aux Folles, but I really enjoyed 'I Am What I Am' when I recently heard it from a friend.
I was just curious as to what character sings that song in the show.

The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

So do you think that La Cage will be worth seeing?
I've always been interested in seeing this musical, but I never got around to seeing it locally in New Jersey. The song that I heard I really enjoyed. I've seen bits of The Birdcage and it seemed pretty off the wall and funny from what I could gather.
So as a teenager, do you think I would enjoy this show or should I save my $100 for something more entertaining?
Is the show very 'glitzy' and 'glamarous'? I know it is still in the works, but the show itself?

It looks to be one of the highlights of the season. If you enjoyed Birdcage, you would like the show. And yes, I think 'glitzy' in this case is a given

You're right, Joizey. He is beautiful but his hair looks greasy that long. I like him with the short, pretty boy hair. The long hair is distracting. We must focus on the voice... and gorgeous face.

re: La Cage Question#23
Posted: 9/1/04 at 12:02amThe '83 La Cage was very glitzy and glamorous, particularly the costumes by Theoni Aldredge for Les Cagelles and Zaza. There were some news items suggesting they are going to make the drag club a little seedier and edgier in the revival, so we'll see if some of the glitz goes out the window. I am also hopeful that they retain the wonderful Jim Tyler orchestrations of the original production, which are perhaps his finest work.
