Hey, I've never seen La Cage Aux Folles, but I really enjoyed 'I Am What I Am' when I recently heard it from a friend.
I was just curious as to what character sings that song in the show.

Simon, The-o-dore.
Hush now, Priest. None of that or you will be severely dealt with.

So do you think that La Cage will be worth seeing?
I've always been interested in seeing this musical, but I never got around to seeing it locally in New Jersey. The song that I heard I really enjoyed. I've seen bits of The Birdcage and it seemed pretty off the wall and funny from what I could gather.
So as a teenager, do you think I would enjoy this show or should I save my $100 for something more entertaining?
Is the show very 'glitzy' and 'glamarous'? I know it is still in the works, but the show itself?

It looks to be one of the highlights of the season. If you enjoyed Birdcage, you would like the show. And yes, I think 'glitzy' in this case is a given
I'm very excited to see the very talented and ultra-sexy Gavin Creel in this show!!

Ooh, I can't wait until La Cage opens. I'm begging my mom to let it be my Christmas present.
What are some of the better numbers in the show? I have a site that has some old recordings of it. Which should I listen to so I'll be convinced to see it?
GAVIN CREEL IS THE MOST TALENTED MALE IN THE BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SOOOOO TALENTED
Thanks, but back to the show of La Cage Aux Folles...
And he does NOT need a haircut. Those golden locks are to die for! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I think he looks a little 'greasy' with the long straight hair.
Greasy? He can give me a lube job any day! Totally the cat's meow. A bundle of talent. Voice of a God. Handsome in every way, shape and form. Can't wait to see him in this role! Have I said too much? HAHA
You're right, Joizey. He is beautiful but his hair looks greasy that long. I like him with the short, pretty boy hair. The long hair is distracting. We must focus on the voice... and gorgeous face.

I never said he was beautiful. Lol. His hair just looks greasy, that's all. Updated On: 8/31/04 at 11:50 PM

Is Birdcage based off of La Cage? Because I loved The Birdcage!
The '83 La Cage was very glitzy and glamorous, particularly the costumes by Theoni Aldredge for Les Cagelles and Zaza. There were some news items suggesting they are going to make the drag club a little seedier and edgier in the revival, so we'll see if some of the glitz goes out the window. I am also hopeful that they retain the wonderful Jim Tyler orchestrations of the original production, which are perhaps his finest work.
What are some of the great songs from the show that I should listen to?
