Man, I can see Sabrina2's point about almost not wanting to see La Cage. Personally, I had a hard time watching Tom Cruise in films after his comments about post-partum depression. Although, with Grammer, it's all so laughable that I might be able to tolerate it!

Not wanting to see Kelsey Grammer in LA CAGE aux FOLLES because of his socio-political beliefs reminds me of the Vietnam era when colleagues at work were not spoken to because of their pro or anti Vietnam War position. I lost a number of friends during that period. I was very anti-Vietnam and was glad that I had "occupational deferment" with the draft board because of being a Special Ed teacher. I would have made a terrible soldier. At any rate, though I remain a liberal democrat, I am looking forward to seeing Kelsey Grammer in two weeks.

The problem is that so many people on either side, see someone identify themselves as Right or Left wing and have these Knee Jerk reactions about them. "Kelsey Grammer is a Right Winger...and right wingers talk about family values...and he cheats...he is a hypocrite and I must hate him"

Kelsey Grammer appears to be a Fiscal Conservative and a Social Liberal. I believe some call them "South Park Republicans" And frankly I would bet that a lot of people on this board would find that they agree with his views in many ways...(I am no deep political person at all, so please don't ask me to start listing things)

I am willing to bet that 90% of the people that talk out with such hatred against Right Wingers do so because of their stance on Gay rights and other humanitarian issues..."They will let straight abusive marriages adopt but want to stop happy gay couples!"

But what if you took that away? What if you couldn't make those arguments? What if you had a Republican say "I want Gay citizens to have every right that all other Americans have!?" There would still be differences, of course, but wouldn't those differences be a little narrower?

In his advertisement for his right-wing network, Kelsey lists off things that are "Wrong." "Grown men tickle fights" is so "Wrong" that he needs to pause, fix the camera with a steely gaze and say "That's REALLY wrong."

If I had a political network and I were filming a commercial for it and listing off things I thought were "Wrong," I'd include "Making cheap stupid homophobic cracks in order to curry favor with right-wing dolts while starring in a huge lavish Broadway musical that supposedly advances the cause of gay acceptance....THAT'S WRONG."
