La Cage preliminary reviews

Has anybody else seen this since the opening night? I wonder because everything I've read here makes it sound absolutely fantastic. But when I look over at ATC, they can't say enough bad things about it. One guy said the only thing good was the costumes while someone else said he heard (directly) that Harvey wasn't pleased with the way it was going.

Any thoughts?

I like how Tiny-Toon makes up stuff when she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Is it possible that Tiny is one of the older BWW.com posters playing a prank on us? No one can possibly be that dumb and/or misguided.

Tiny, no offense, I don't really believe anything you post.

Anyway, to the original poster, there are two reviews I've read here (BroadwayMatt and Matt_G and two recent ones on ATC. Pretty positive all around.

Saw it on Friday night w? several other BWW posters and we all loved it! The choreography was flippin' amazing. This is going to be a very hot ticket.

Tiny-Toon excuse me but what is your beef against La Cage? It's an amazing show and this revival sounds like its extremely worthy of Tony gold and it beats Brooklyn out the water. I think anything beats Brooklyn, I think I can handle Mamma Mia or Moving Out more than that trash heap.

crazy, Tiny's beef against anything that isn't Brooklyn is that it isn't Brooklyn. The kid has to be 12, 13 years old.

Ok, people......seriously. I am not on Tiny Toon's side here or anything, but if you keep making fun of a musical he/she likes, then he/she can say whatever he/she wants about another musical. It is a double edged sword here, folks. re: La Cage preliminary reviews

Tiny-Toon wouldn't know a good Broadway show if it bit her in the ass. The only thing she's interested in is promoting dreck like Brooklyn.

I wasn't making fun of Brooklyn at all. I think it's a fun show. Tiny is NOTORIOUS on this board for having nothing of substance outside of her sig line to say!

What didn't they like about it Tiny??? Details please. How many of your friends have seen it? It's only been in previews four days. From everything I've heard, it's going to be one big, fat, fabulous hit!

I saw it. I love so many of the people involved. I was very excited about it. And I regret to say that I thought it was awful in almost every way possible. That said, I certainly wish it all the best. I can't imagine they are 100% happy with it as it is now. I would guess that there will be substantial adjustments before it opens.
