"Neil LaBute's reasons to be pretty, the MCC Theater production currently playing Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre, will find its way to the Broadway stage in 2009.
Variety reports that August: Osage County producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Steve Traxler — in association with MCC — will produce the Broadway mounting.
Broadway rehearsals, according to the industry paper, are scheduled to begin Jan. 26, 2009, with a first preview at a theatre to be announced Feb. 13.
The current Off-Broadway company, which includes Piper Perabo, Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski and Pablo Schreiber, will reprise their work for Broadway audiences. Terry Kinney, who directed the Off-Broadway run, will also helm the Broadway mounting..."

I saw the show this past Sunday. It's a very interesting play, beautifully acted by a quartet of exceptional actors.
GOOD FOR THEM! I should look-into nabbing tix while it's still off-bway.
Damn, that Alison Pill sure has had a great yellow brick road lately, eh?
Fancy me some LaBute!

Still gotta see it at the Lortel.
Interesting choice to have a Broadway transfer.
Wow good for them. I think I was the only person who didn't like what I saw. Well, not so much disliked but indifferent. Who knows, maybe I'll give it another shot in 09.
Wow.
Good for them! I really want to see this play, I definitely won't miss it on Broadway.
But you know what I would LOVE to see?
I would love it if they played this in repertory with FAT PIG and THE SHAPE OF THINGS. Now THAT would be a theatrical event!
Not really feasible, because neither Allison Pill nor Piper Perabo are fat, but interesting nonetheless.
Can't wait for this, I love me some Labute.
I love this show. I saw it two weeks ago- great script, perfect casting. Kudos to Neil!!!
seems like it could be really good! congrats to it!!!

Is this LaBute's Broadway debut?
In any case, I'm seeing it Saturday afternoon.

YES!
I was so upset that I didn't have the time to see this while I was in NYC, so it looks like I'm getting a second chance for next summer! Oh my gosh, this makes me so happy. I just love me some LaBute and Pill.
Yes, this is LaBute's Broadway debut.
Found out about this a couple of weeks ago and was so excited--so happy it's official.
I'm so happy about this. I saw this play just before it opened, and while i thought there were a few flaws, i LOVED it overall. Great writing, great acting, and an interesting story.
Also, the play has stayed in my head ever since i saw it --which for me-- is the mark of a great night in the theatre.

I am thrilled about this announcement. Reasons To Be Pretty is a very meaningful and powerful show for this day and age. I am happy that it will get the chance to deliver it's message to a wider audience, especially with the brillant cast from this current production.

I saw Piper on Conan and he was raving about how the critics are eating up her performance and how amazing she is (I don't know whether or not this is true since I know nothing of the play or its reception), but I jokingly said to my friend 'watch this transfer' so this is a pleasant surprise. Alison Pill is on a roll!
