Looks pretty good. I'll be curious to hear people's thoughts once it opens.

Hoping for some early reports with performances starting later this week. The promo for the show is pretty vague.

This show was done a decade ago at the Mark Taper Forum. It wasn't good, IMO. But nothing ever dies. Best thing about it was a fantastic performance by Michele Pawk.

This production appears to be based on the significantly revised version that premiered in Baltimore a few years ago. I was living in DC at the time and caught a preview performance and found it to be gorgeous and fascinating. Reminded me a bit of Hello Again in how it was structured. For those of us complaining about lack of original musicals and endless adaptations, I l'm glad to see this piece has made it's way to NY and hope to get there.

Has someone here seen this production yet? Also, does anyone know their covid requirements right now? I can't figure it out from the website. I have my vaccination card, but I don't think my photo ID (getting it renewed) will arrive before this show closes.

I saw it this week. It had some good moments but was generally forgettable. The show itself is poorly constructed, IMO - it takes way too long for the two characters to interact directly with one another, and then rushes the ending. Samayoa and Mason do their best with the material they were given.
Masks were required but I was not asked to show proof of vaccination.

Thanks, @kwoc91. I sat through Inner Voices so I don't mind something a little half-baked. I probably won't run to see this, but I'd like to see the performers if I have a free night. (Also, my ID came, but I appreciate the info anyway.)

I thought this was interminably boring, and relentless bland. The two actors do their best with lackluster direction, but still I have a feeling that Carolee Carmelo and Javier Muñoz might’ve been more interesting.

Theatermania's review isn't very favorable.
The fact that the creative team is severely lacking in Latinx representation only compounds my distaste for Los Otros. It's an evening that feels hopelessly dated and entirely of an era that's less forward-thinking than our own. Perhaps after all this time, the writers should give it a rest once and for all.

The review in the Times was more favorable.
LaChiusa’s forte is melancholy, which is much harder to monetize than big drama or big comedy. In that regard, “Los Otros” is yet another illustration of his singular talent.
