LaChiusa's THE HIGHEST YELLOW

Does anyone by any chance have a song list of this show that was published in the program (if it was) or anything?

Thanks in advance!

What a beautiful score! Another lost treasure with Marc Kudisch!

It's about Van Gogh.

Well, actually, it's about his doctor's relationship with the whore Van Gogh cut his ear off for.

Yeah they are on the Kennedy Center website. They are great. It's a shame it wasn't recorded.

Here is the link to the video on the Kennedy Center webiste. I'm assuming it's ok since it's from there. The first few songs are a different show, and then they do four from Highest Yellow.

Edited to make the link work.

re: LaChiusa's THE HIGHEST YELLOW

"His Heart" and "Rachel's Room" are two of LaChiusa's best songs.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body
