This season is becoming a disaster for Broadway in Chicago. We already have two shows for the current season indefintitely postponed - Doctor Dolittle and Martin Short (which replaced The Woman In White which was supposed to be in the LaSalle Bank Theater last month(!) had the original schedule held). Now this.
Frankly, The Woman In White and Tuesdays With Morrie were the main draws of this season. Golda's Balcony was (for us) a main draw of the spring season. It looks like the Auditorium might be available for the Tuesdays With Morrie dates but all the other Broadway In Chicago theaters are already in use for the Golda's Balcony dates. It will be real interesting to see how they salvage things.

Last week we finally got some official information from Broadway in Chicago although it looks like some of that could be changing again.
For the current fall/winter season, Tuesdays with Morrie is pushed back four weeks to a 2/28 opening and moved to the Palace Theater. Doctor Dolittle now has firm dates - 7/18 to 7/30 and also at the Palace. And for Martin Short, they're just saying "Spring 2006". But today, all mention of Martin Short has disappeared from the Broadway in Chicago website other than in the "subscriber update". It's gone from the list of upcoming shows that is the main part of the website. So it might be totally off (no great loss in my opinion).
For the spring/summer season, they're now saying Golda's Balcony will be in June (no specific dates) and remains at the LaSalle Bank Theater.

Broadway in Chicago definitely got shafted this season. Frankly the only thing I wanted to see was WiW. Everything else looked so-so.

You promised me poems. ~Tricky
