I'm not THAT retarded. I understand what's happening conceptually in the song, I just didn't have any idea what the hell they were talking about, ergo "...because I have NO idea what they're talking about... "
So what's the deal with "No, that one's Jerry Seinfeld"? They're talking about apartments?

Posted: 12/25/04 at 12:18pmI think: Instead of asking Cathy to spend the entire rest of her life with him (which is a lifelong commitment and therefore pretty scary, especially to someone who loves the ladies like Jamie), he is saying to her, "Let's take it step by step, in ten-minute intervals. If it works out for the next ten minutes, let's try ten minutes more, and so on..." By the way, in the recent L.A. production, Jamie and Cathy are boating in Central Park and looking at the different apartments on the Upper West Side (John Lennon's, Jerry Seinfeld's, etc.) and in the San Diego one I just saw, they are just walking through the park. One additional comment about the music (and I have to listen again to hear the major-minor cord difference in the opening waltz and the closing one--didn't notice that!), I was struck the other night by the fact that when Jamie and Cathy dance at their wedding, it's the same melody that accompanies his farewell song to her, "I Could Never Reach You." So sad! Well, it's such a brilliant score. It's the kind of score I wish I were in a music class and could discuss and analyze, there's so much to it!

Was looking around online and found this:

Does anybody know anything about their shows?
I really want to go, but not if it's going to suck.

Posted: 1/8/05 at 4:04amI agree. Just go! Even if it's not a great production, just to hear the music and experience the story is worth it. I saw two different productions in the last two months and unfortunately have to miss a third one in February because of a show I'm doing. Don't miss this chance to see it!

Disagree.
It's told through solos. If the people aren't good, what am I doing there? Staring at the stationary set or the amazing costumes?
I'm just nervous to drive all the way up there and then see an über-amateurish attempt at the show.
