I was listening to the Showtunes network on my digital cable network and they were playing "There's a Fine, Fine Line" from Avenue Q...and just as it came to the end the phone rang and I didn't hear the last phrase after "there's a fine, fine line between love ...." I really liked the song and just need someone to fill in the blank.
Many thanks...

Thanks! I'm always waiting for a twist at the end of a song so it bugs me to miss the last line.

There's a fine, fine line between together and not.
And there's a fine, fine line between what you wanted and what you got.
You've gotta go after the things you want while you're still in your prime.
There's a fine, fine line between love and a waste of time.

I miss the spoken "asshole" that was the original conclusion to the song. A final touch of anger.
Really? I prefer it minus the asshole because I think its interesting to watch the audience during intermission when they realize that they've just come to care about a puppet when they probably swore that was something only kids did.
NuggetMonkeys, in all honesty, I rattled those lyrics off of the top of my head WITHOUT looking at the lyric booklet, listening to the song, or as you suggested, copying and pasting. I'm simply good with lyrics. :)
(P.S. I was previously unaware of the original spoken word ending. I find it rather amusing.)
BTS, I don't feel the 'asshole' destroys the mood of FFL. But like you, I do love seeing the audience get all sniffly and sad about the heartbreak of a puppet...like when Rob makes the rueful comment at the wedding and when he breaks down starts to cry during his therapy session with Christmas eve. Real kleenex moments.
That IS the beauty of this show and of the performances. :)
Totally didn't know about the asshole comment, but I think it's better without it.
I knew about the comment because I listened to a demo of the song on Playbill radio (I think). I like it, but I could see why they might not have it on the cd.
Playbill has a radio?
