I have a college audtion with the same requirments only for a girl! Which college? I'm doing the Seagull monolouge by Checohv (sp) and the monolouge that leads up to Dance Ten Looks three in Chorus Line.
a college just let you know this week that you will be auditioning next week?
what college?
Speaking of Chorus Line, there is Paul's great monologue, and Bobby has one that I've done before. Also, Neil Simon has served me well.....

to the male: check out Lost in Yonkers...neil simon works so well with monologues...also check out The Crucible...Cyrano debergiac....snoopy's monologue with the red baron...thats pretty contrasting..if you choose snoopy have fun and go crazy then pick a seriouse monologue to go with it. dont think because its charlie brown they wont take you seriously. thats a myth.
break a leg! :)
to the female: try a monologue form the muscial Gypsy! also to the same effect is one from lost in yonkers by bella towards the end...it begins "you think i cant have healthy babies momma?!" that opening sounds wierd but its good. also check out neil simon's The Good Doctor. theres a monologue by the Wife thats good. also see A Tree Grows in Brookyln. :) I wish you the best!
I used to run auditions for my school and here is some advice: I would stay away from too adult things...AKA PAUL MONOLOGUE/ ANGELS IN AMERICA/ you get the hint...Try something young and fresh...within your age range.

If you only have started preparing for your college audition a week before (NO college will tell you about your audition a week before hand...), you might as well not go. Most people spend at least a year preparing for their college audition pieces...

Yeah, I'd have to say that the idea of just hearing now that you have a college audition is kind of difficult to believe. Anyone who's applying to college programs which require auditions had to have applied to the vast majority of them long before now, and scheduled their auditions. Plus, if you're going that route, you'd likely have your monologues chosen, read and become familiar with the plays, and memorized those monologues LONG ago. This sounds a little crazy to me.
