I'm going to be in the city last minute this weekend, Friday-Monday, and hoping to watch 3-4 shows (maybe 5 if there's a Sun evening show that's worth it). I've not kept up with Broadway the last few months so hoping for some show recommendations. I was last in NYC in April and caught Come From Away, The Play that goes Wrong and a few other shows that closed. From what I've seen on here it seems that if I can get a ticket for The Band's Visit, I shouldn't miss it. Anything else I should catch? Thanks!

Definitely don't miss The Band's Visit. It is exquisite. If you haven't seen Hello, Dolly! yet, make that happen, too. Those are two "must-see"s on Broadway right now.
Some other good picks these days are Meteor Shower, and from what I've heard (though I'm going to both soon), OOTI and Spongebob.
(I'd have recommended both Come from Away and The Play That Goes Wrong if you didn't mention seeing them! Love them!)

I saw "The Band's Visit" and "Once On This Island" on my weekend trip Friday-Saturday. Highly recommend both. Here's a seating tip for Circle on the Square, where "Once.." is: I was in seat F-247, the aisle seat in one of the long sections facing the stage horizontally. Two rows down, the end seat is D-245. It and D-243 and D-241 are right in front of part of the set that extends from the stage (a downed tree/power pole) Not only would the view appear to be perfect (no heads in front of you) but there's quite a bit of action that happens on or near pole, right in front of you.
I also went through a rare theater dry spell during the past year and missed "Hello, Dolly!" until this trip. I'm sure you've seen it, but in case you haven't, let me add my vote to those who have loved it.
Have fun!

I also support seeing all the shows listed as well as Dear Evan Hansen (I might suggest seeing it when Noah is out only because he appears to still finding his way a bit) and the immersive Sweeney Todd off-Broadway.
But definitely Hello Dolly and The Band’s Visit. Also, if you can fit in Waitress (not sure if has Sunday night performance), I really enjoyed it.
