Does anyone know what Harvey will be doing next? My husband and I were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of him as he was walking down the street heading to the theater. Didn't want to bother him, because I knew he had to get into makeup. He just kinda smiled and waved at us, how awesome.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I believe that if you read mmay of the articles out and about his departure they all say he begins working on the revision of the book for the revival of La cage in September.
Well, hopefully he'll begin working on the film version of HAIRSPRAY. The movie was announced, but casting hasn't so we'll all have to cross our fingers they can get as much of the OBC as possible! -Matt
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."
That is a long ways ahead. just read one of the many links offered by broadwayworl about his departure and it will tell you exactly what he i working on. La Cage starting in September.
Since it was my first time seeing the show, I can't say what was different from usual aside from some pretty obvious (and funny) adlibs, but I thought the show was amazing! There was much respectful cheering for Harvey (and Kathy) throughout the performance, and an extended standing ovation during "We Can't Stop the Beat". After curtain call, there were some speeches by Marc Shaiman and one other creator (I didn't catch which), as well as Harvey himself. Harvey was pretty choked up, but thanked everyone for allowing him to share his life and his art with them, and help them escape from this world we all have to live in. It was really nice. I had a great time! I'm sure those who are more familiar with the show will have more to say!
Once again I am so bummed to have missed this show w/ Harvey!!! But with a talent like his, it won't be long before he is back!! Week-ends are way to short, more time is needed to see more shows! Barbara
