no, jeff, as much as i love lbb, her webiste is a bit sketchy with how it lists the awards. i doubt she has much to do with it, but she might want to take a little more interest.

maybe she needs a better webmaster. matt told me he was doing hairspray in LA long before it was 'final' but my golden rule is that you better tell me word-for-word, Christina post this on my site, otherwise i take it as priveledged information. still it wasnt announced till about three days after he told me to post it, but atleast it was correct.

Okay...what's all the bickering about? Whether or not someone thinks it's a bad decision to pass on a Broadway role is not for any of us to decide. As Craig said earlier-there's a lot more to it than anyone thinks.
And as far as LBB's website goes-she doesn't run it and as soon as she found out that a story had broke on Playbill referring to her website, she called and had it removed.
And then there's the whole Tony Award thing on her resume on her site. It does not say that she won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in HAIRSPRAY, it says Hairspray - 2003 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical. If I was in a Tony-Winning Best Musical, you bet your a** that it's gonna be on my resume. It also said that it won a Grammy for Best Cast Album-it's not at all presumptuous to put that on your resume if you are a valid part of the reason that the show won those awards.
And everyone here has the right to not like someone's performances, but quite clearly, we are not here to start calling people liars and attacking their personal choices simply because we don't like the way they sing "Popular." It's ludicrous what these chat boards sometimes turn into when people start making unkind and unfair assumptions about people's lives. Please stay on topic.
met lbb! she was so nice...kristin was the nicest tho...idina was warm, but not as welcoming as kristin!
You must admit Dawg, the award listing is worded in a way where one is *meant* to make the mistake of thinking Ms. Bundy is actually in possession of said award. She has no Tony or Grammy. She doesn't even have a nomination for either award. I don't think it's at all a personal attack, it can't, in essence be. None of us, to my knowledge, know her and as Ifflit pointed out, "speculation" is what these Broadway message boards are based on. In my experience, I have found that the MOST mean spirited posters are the actual actor/actresses themselves and/or someone closely involved with them, in some way. Let's not forget the old Broadway.com board and it's many, many shills. It was and remains the basic prototype for this board, with far better monitoring. Message boards, in their most basic function, are mean spirited and catty, particularly, a Broadway forum. Been to ATC lately?

Actually, I haven't been to ATC lately because it's a poorly run board and a large percentage of the posts there are angry and bitter. And on LBB's resume it says quite clearly that the Tony is for BEST MUSICAL...anyone who would be reading her resume in a professional setting would know full-well that the award is not in her possession. It is not worded in any way to suggest anything other than these are awards that she has some part of (which she does). And as for Broadway.com's message board-who really cares? I, for one am quite glad they're not running a message board anymore as the people who run that site spend most of their day bragging about their site on THIS message board (speaking of shills, I feel we may have found another one). If you have an issue with the monitoring, check out ATC where if you speak up about a problem you have with them, the post is immediately deleted-it's the most fascist thing I've ever seen. And as we can tell (other than a few posters on this site) Message boards do not NEED to be mean-spirited and catty. If that's what you get off on, there's plenty of room for it at ATC-too bad Broadway.com's board isn't still around-knowing the people who run the site, it would be a perfect forum for said cattiness.
Surely, you're not implying that I work at Broadway.com? Seems to me that it has and will remain, VERBOTEN to like Broadway.com on this site. Can't say I understand why. But I assure you, I am not employed by them, nor do I have any personal involvement, or affiliation with any of their employees. Updated On: 6/13/04 at 06:14 PM

I'm implying no such thing- just recommending that just because someone is passionate about something doesn't necessarily make them a shill. You clearly have defended Broadway.com on more than one occassion and if my defense of Laura Bell Bundy makes me a shill, then clearly your feelings towards Broadway.com don't take you out of the running.
I wasn't aiming my "shillism" at you. There are hundreds of posters that would apply to, besides you.
