After watching a few of the AOL Build Series interviews with Laura Heywood interviewing a few Broadway actors, I have to say she is such an excellent interviewer. Her questions never seem dumb, you can tell she actually watched the show or at least thoroughly researched her subjects before the interview, and has a very warm, affable personality that puts most of her subjects at ease. She's also pretty articulate as well. I know those things should be standard with anybody conducting interviews for a living (or speaking on television/Internet), but I think Heywood is a cut above most.

But, I think that certainly helps with her interviewing since she really cares about what they're talking about. She also has been part of programming at Broadwaycon.

I just think I've grown so used to watching bad or so-so interviews that when I first saw Heywood's interviews, I was just so taken aback by her sheer competence. I love her work on Build and I hope she does it forever, but I think she also needs to look at other opportunities because she is extremely good at what she does.

I absolutely love Laura. I've actually hung out with her a couple times, and in addition to being very good at what she does, she is also an incredibly kind person, and very good to talk to about pretty much anything.

I think I'll check her out. She sounds like a fantastic interviewer.....unlike Julie James (Sirius XM on Broadway) who works my last nerves with her over praising...and over-everything.

I've been to a few panels she was on (or moderated) at BroadwayCon and was at the most recent 54 Below Tonys trivia night. She's fantastic with a crowd and with some obnoxiously drunk guys at said trivia night who yelled when a question she had written was slightly inaccurate.
Sometimes I get suspicious of people who are unfailingly positive online, but after a while you realize the stuff they're NOT saying is important, even if you're not necessarily going to know what it is.
