They alternate in two roles in The Little Foxes, one lead and one supporting. (Birdie has always been a supporting role.) Will they both be eligible for Best Actress, or will they both be eligible for both Best Actress AND Best Featured Actress, or will only one be eligible for Best Actress and the other for Featured?
Some years ago, True West had Philip Seymour Hoffman and John C. Reilly both up for Best Actor, but that was different because both parts they alternated in were leads.

Tony eligibility is usually based on who performs the role on opening night. It's already been determined that Linney is playing Regina on opening and Nixon is playing Birdie. It's up to the Tony nominating committee though if they want to deem both women eligible for leading category (I think they will do this and just seem the role as Birdie AND Regina)

It is up to the admin committee, but the nom committee. My guess is they will rule both eligible for both.
