they played "Lovely" from A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum when Laura Linney presented...was that a tribute to sondheim or am I missing something?

It might be the most played entrance song for the Tony Awards. Watch some previous broadcasts from recent years. They play it all the time. I'm not sure why.

Has anyone figured out the reasons for half the songs played for when they were played?

Haha, during the Creative Awards, they played "Mambo" for South Pacific design wins.

Go figure...

haha. I went toa viewing party at "don't tell mama's" and that was one of the trivia questions. "which song played while Laura Linney walked out"I didn't even notice!
