Who are some men you would like to see take a crack at The Phantom on Broadway



My Choices:
Gary Maur...my first Phantom and should definately play it on Broadway.

Michael Ball
Donny Osmond
Tyree Walker
Randal Keith
Brian Stokes Mitchell

Someone OTHER THAN people who have played it before. They keep recycling their three leads. Tour to Broadway, Broadway to tour.

You're probably going to get your wish for that first one. It's just not official yet.

Can't think of anyone for a list myself. Other than the former understudy/long-time Firmin who left the show last year...Jeff Keller. I would've loved him to play the Phantom as principle.

Gary Maur deserves to play the Phantom on Broadway...he was AMAZING when I saw him in Atlanta.


I wish I could see Jeff Keller ast the Phantom has he ever gone as the Phantom recently?

I don't think Jeff went on in a long time. It's a shame...he was excellent.

I was fortunate to catch Jeff Keller as Phantom. He was excellent. He understudied it for years and didn't go on nearly as often as many had hoped. Unfortunately he is a bit too old to be brought back.

They have been recycling phantoms for a loooong time. It's cheaper, it works. I don't see it changing. They don't need to freshen it up with a new mask. It's doing fine. They seem to type cast this role; typically tall, thin-ish and under 40ish with good chops. There's still a handful of former phantoms circulating that fit the bill until they run out or the numbers start dwindle ...IMO

Bring back Marc Jacoby. lol jk he is completely awesome though, incredible in sweeney and so nice. I feel bad, he always seems snubbed at the stage door
