Does anyone know if Leah Hocking is out of Hairspray for now or is she just calling out of the show whenever there is a Happy Fella performance?
I was looking at a Playbill from the show the other day - she isn't in it.
Is she coming back?

playbill.com said she was taking a leave of absence, with Liz Larsen filling in until March 11th, I think. So she might be back now.
It's funny that Liz Larsen is filling in for Hocking while she plays Cleo in THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, a role that Larsen played in the 1992 Broadway revival.
Leah will not be back for good March 11th...Liz Larsen was just gonna be filling in until March 11th. Leah will still be doing the Sunday matinees at Hairspray, and maybe the Saturday matinees too, until Most Happy Fella is over. Until then, Joanna Glushak, who plays Prudy on the tour, will be filling in. She is hilarious as Prudy so I can't wait to see what she does with Velma.
But Leah WILL be coming back?
I was going to see the show AGAIN for her!
Yes she will be back, I talked to her after Happy Fella last week. Her contract is through June, though she might extend.

Saw Leah today--she was great. I told her I was a big fan of All Shook Up and she responded, "I was a big fan of All Shook Up too." Humor.
Joanna was hillarious--she even talked to me in the performance today--she looked down in the jailhouse number and said, "Ooh, you're cute--too young for me." More humor. Ah, my life is just FULL of humor!
Joanna is one of the best actors at ad-libbing that I've ever seen. On Sunday night, during the part where Prudy pushes her way through the people sitting in the front row, she actually picked up this woman's purse off her lap and said something like, "What the hell do you have in this thing? It's huge!" and then she dropped the bag back in the woman's lap. I really enjoy her and would actually LOVE it if Julie Halston left and Joanna took over. Leah, however, is absolutely phenomenal and I hope she NEVER leaves Hairspray!
