I always thought the end to Rent needed work. When Mimi springs back to life again, it was a real WTF "group hug" moment.
The ending to Dreamgirls fizzles for me as well. Another "group hug" moment.
They're not the "worst" endings in musical theatre history, by any means, but because so much that came before that point was good and/or great, they definitely count as among my "least favorite."

I don't think the Wicked ending is all that happy. Glinda is forced to celebrate the death of her only real friend, who will forever be known as an evil wicked witch. Fiyero is a scarecrow (how long will he last?) and Elphaba can never see Glinda or her homeland again.
Granted, I do think it's more common for the actresses (especially Elphabas) to grin/smile in the final moments of the finale which takes away from the tragedy of it all.

Put me down for Evita.
Oh and not quite a final moment but I'm sorry, I hate it when at the end of the movie version of The Sound of Music, Kurt rats out the von Trapps. And you won't convince me that the stage version was weaker. Sorry.
