Lee Lessack - "In Good Company"

I would like to start my review of Lee Lessack's 'In Good Company" be setting a scene....

It is winter...the temperatures outside are dropping to below freezing...icicles are forming on every window pane...the snowstorm outside is growing by the foot....You are sitting in front of a roaring fireplace feeling the warmth of the flames caressing your face....in your hands is your favorite mug of hot cocoa...you know the one...with the melted marshmallows oozing over the rim...you are cuddled under the softest blanket...your feet have slipped into the fuzziest slippers you could find....as your eyelids begin to close a feeling of warmth permeates your body and all you can muster up is a long and relaxing....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

Do you feel good right now?

That is nothing compared to how Lee Lessack's latest CD "In Good Company" will have you feeling inside! I bought this gem 3 weeks ago and have not stopped playing it since! I cannot seem to stop falling in love with this man's voice....and NEITHER WILL YOU! The selection of songs are all so moving, breathtaking, beautiful and timeless....

Lee Lessack has one of the smoothest and sexiest voices you could ever hope to experience. Each artists' voice combined with the vocals of Lee make this a sure fire GRAMMY WIN! From Michael Feinstein's "May I Suggest" to Ann Hampton Callaway's "Bring Back Romance", and the beautiful sweet voices of Nita Whitaker "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", Mary Jo Mundy's "Never Saw Blue Like That" and Stacy Sullivan's "Stay the Night", to the masterful Jon Philip Alman's "Sweet Mystery"...and I have to mention the song "For Good" shared with Stephen Schwartz....every track on here is its own MASTERPIECE! I could name each and every song.....and should....but you will be picking out your own favorites...but how do you begin to pick out a favorite when all 17 tracks are awe-inspiring, magnificent, not to mention spectacular?

"In Good Company" is the CD OF THE YEAR TO OWN! Listening to Lee singing is like "falling in love all over again...if not for the first time!" Lee Lessack is the voice of our 21st Century. Once you witness his vocals, you will never forget his name...Lee's talent is soaring so high, his voice no doubt has already reached the heavens above!!!!!!!!!!

Keep the momentum going...purchase "In Good Company"....with Lee Lessack.

And you thought hot cocoa on a winter's night left you
feeling warm and fuzzy inside?

Buy "In Good Company" and you will experience true ecstasy in its finest form...from the vocals of a man who not only has made his mark....but continues on an inevitable path...

A quest for the rest of the world to hear
voices of purity, joy and sheer excellence,
like never before
This IS unconditional love in the form of a disc
Go ahead....fall in love again...
and again.....
and again....

I feel like you are his publicist....I saw it live in concert, and was bored out of my mind. He was a cocky jerk. I made a post about it the night I got back from it. A-W-F-U-L. And i was very dissapointed with Stephen Schwartz's performance.

Unlike TheaterDiva, whose post was unnecessarily rude and harsh I thought, I very much enjoyed the concert as I think did most of the audience. Obviously this is not a high school girl's style of music, nor does she likely represent Lessack's many fans. Lee Lessack had every reason to be proud of his accomplishments, but to call him cocky and say the concert was awful? Some people are just darn hard to please, I guess. Besides some fantastic duets with some very talented female vocalists, I thought it was wonderful that out singer Lessack had the guts to feature 50% male-male duets in the concert/on the CD, several of them boy loves boy ballads opposite out gay singers. His duet with Brian Lane Green was especially moving. Though I agree that aquablue's joining this board at the very moment he posts a review which would be any publicist's dream is suspicious, the points he makes are valid. For those who want a CD of romantic ballads, and one which celebrates more than one way of loving, this CD is one to add to your collection.

i don't think it worked so well live in concert, especially the first half. too many ballads in a row. of course, ann hampton callaway came on and blew the roof off, but she is a different caliber of performer than anyone else on the bill -- or anyone else at all, really. lee is not my taste as a singer/performer but i think he is an exquisite producer and his label has put out some very fine recordings by other artists. i think they're looking for an NYC venue for another show soon.
ps. the tone of the first review made me laugh. (the voice of the 21st century indeed!) it's not a publicist -- i think it's lee's mother! (or maybe his fantastic BF)

"Obviously this is not a high school girl's style of music, nor does she likely represent Lessack's many fans."

Actually, it is not my kind of music. I would much rather have gone to see an opera or a classical concert than the mess that was on the stage that night. The male-male duets were very bold and I did respect him for that, but it was just not a pleasant evening for me.

Thank you for your post today. I have posted a rebuttal in the Off Topic board if you would care to read it and reply.

I was very upset today with the responses that came in and so I felt I should clear the air on a few things.

If you care to read it and respond, that would be so kind of you.

Thank you

I just received a lovely email from aquablue, the original poster. She was quite rightly hurt by the nastiness of TheatreDiva, just as I have been numerous times on this site by posters who were apparently never taught to measure their words. There is a polite way to say something, and then there are the brats on this board who write without thinking about how their words can wound others. At least Garland Grrrl's post was polite and well thought out, and though she had reservations about Lessack's concert, she took the time to write something well-rounded.

TheatreDiva, if you prefer opera or classical music, what on earth were you doing at Lee's concert? And if Lee's music is not a genre to your liking, then you should have realized that you were not the right person to post a credible review, and simply kept your mouth shut, in the same way that I would never presume to review a hip hop CD, rap not being something I like or appreciate.

There are far too many adolescents on this board, making it much too often a most unpleasant experience to post here.

By the way, here is a link to Aquablue's Off Topic post. Would that there were more posters like her.
