Lee Remick in televised Damn Yankees

I have this whole thing on a dvd that was transferred from an old vhs tape. It is the weirdest thing in the world. The sets seem to be painted on cardboard cut outs, as are most of the extras. Bizarre animations are inserted into the songs in place of choreography, and the performances are incredibly cheesey.

Stuff like this is why the TV musical died the first time around. It is still worth watching for a good laugh.

Yes! It looks and feels very similar. Of course, being a comic book chsracter, Superman can live in a paint-on-cardboard world and it fits, that wasn't so much the case here.

Ah the 60s...this looks like an acid trip gone really, really bad.

This is so bad.

Oh man, that IS trippy! I can't believe those cuts to animation. And who cast the lovely and talented Remick (who clearly can't dance) in a role that was written for one of the most gifted dancers to ever grace the stage? And Joe's eyes! Insane.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

Holy shvt-what WAS that?

If only he had said he was gay and not married it all would have made sense.

No wonder straights don't like musicals.

PS.I think I am becoming a little bit straight [or too long in Bali].
