I know that there must've been a thread asking for a Legally Blonde review in the past, but I was too lazy to keep searching past the first couple pages of threads. I'm going on June 21st for my friend's Sweet 16. I've heard good and bad about the show and don't know what to believe. Thank you!
It's a fun time- that's the absolute best way to describe it.
The tunes are catchy, the girls are adorable, the guys are good looking and the show is funny. You guys should enjoy it :]
I'd been avoiding the show for a long time because I wasn't sure if I'd be interested in it and the MTV broadcast left me cold. But I finally saw it last week and I found myself getting caught up in the pure fun of the show.

Thanks! I asked my friend about it. She's obsessed, but she also thought that Epic Movie was well made, so I didn't really trust her opinion.
It really is a lot of fun. The majority of the songs are great and catchy. I'm in college and a sorority, though, so that may have something to do with why i love it so much.
I agree with what everyone has said, its a super fun musical. Laura Bell is great and so is the rest of the cast. I think thats such a fun sweet 16 idea!!! lucky new yorkers

Haha we're actually in NJ, we're gonna take a limo into the city!
I'm extremely relieved, for a minute I wasn't sure how it would be. Thanks so much for the feedback.
I saw it April 6. full cast in.
THE SHOW WAS AMAZING!
Omigod, it was so much better than I'd thought it'd be.
You'll love it.
OMIGOD, I'm absolutely POSITIVE that this show is SERIOUSly exactly WHAT YOU WANT. It helped me FIND MY WAY and reminded me of my childhood in IRELAND. So get that CHIP off YOUR SHOULDER, and just TAKE IT LIKE A MAN. It'll get you WHIPPED INTO SHAPE. THERE! RIGHT THERE! is the Palace theater, that will make you BEND AND SNAP and sing THE HARVARD VARIATIONS. There's no BLOOD IN THE WATER, just good times! It's SO MUCH BETTER than Wicked!
Whew.
The show is a lot of fun. The score is catchy, and the dancing is great.
I was at the show this afternoon, however, and the energy level was way down from every other time I've seen this show. Granted, the place was only half full, but still. Everyone, with the exception of Orfeh and Kate Shindle was walking through the show today. It was dreadful, because there was NO ENERGY at all. The audience had to have noticed, because none of the numbers got more than polite applause.
As for Laura Bell Bundy...I now pray that Becky Gulsvig is on as Elle when I go see this show. The role of Elle Woods has seemingly destroyed her voice, because she was all over the place this afternoon. She was having trouble hitting notes (especially the infamous "than before"), and sounded like her voice would just give out at any particular moment. Not a great performance at all, and I used to enjoy her.
Personally, I think the melody of "Take it Like A Man" is haunting. Hope you enjoy the show. I loved it.
Laura Bell has kind of petered out. It's kind of sad, actually. She needs to bow out gracefully.
I'm not blaming her: the whole show rides on her, but it's taxed her heavily.

I loved this when it was on MTV, especially Take It Like a Man, the title song and Chip On My Shoulder and Ireland.
I say: BRING IN MISS BRITNEY SPEARS!
In an interesting twist of fate -- once again Miss Spears fills-in for Miss Bundy. As most know, back when both ladies were little girls, Britney was Laura Bell's 1st understudy in RUTHLESS!
They can pre-record all of Britney's songs/tracks and she can lip-sync her songs in the show. No worries about her singing or her hitting notes she would never be able to in a real 'live' performance.
