I bought to tickets to see Legally Blonde and i really didn't have that high expectations but i was pleasntly suprised. I probaly has one of the most fun i've ever had at a show. Laura Bell was really great, she performed really well and she got a standing o from the crowd. Christian Borle (in my opinion) he didn't deserve to get the Tony nod. I really didn't notice him when he was onstage unless he was saying something really important. Orfeh was hilarious and she did an amazing job when she sang, "Ireland". The audience just couldn't stop laughing during "There! Right There". It was a great show overall and i'd be happy to go see it again.
I'm glad you enjoyed the show!
I have the same feelings about Christian Borle- nothing about him or his role was worthy of a Tony nomination. He doesn't even have any stand-out songs or scenes, he's just...there, haha.
And yeah, Laura Bell is really great, I love her! I might go back to the show tomorrow night just to see her. Might, is the key word. If not tomorrow night, then definitely in November when I'm in the city. :)

I went to see Legally Blonde yesterday too, but I disagree with both of you. I thought Christian had great comedic timing and he was very good as Emmett. Does Orfeh smoke though? I thought she sounded really raspy last night so I was slightly disappointed Laura Bell was really great and so was the rest of the cast. I was really upset to see that Laura Bell, Michael Rupert and Christian Borle had other engagements after the show so I didn't get to meet any of them!! I was really upset
Nice to see you've returned to the boards, korenglish! Welcome back.
Korenglish, i don't believe that Orfeh smokes, I heard from someone last night that she had a sore throat but in my opinion she sounded amazing and she didn't sound like she had a sore throat.

haha, I tried to stay away for a while because I got really addicted, as you might know :) but I'm afraid I might be back. Thanks for the welcome!
And thanks for the answer. That was my first guess: sickness, but then someone mentioned that she sounded like she had smoked two cigarettes before the show. I was just checking and I figured someone here would now :)
Korenglish- were you at the very front of the line at the stage door?
I think Orfeh's voice is always a LITTLE raspy, and I think that's part of what makes her special. I think it's really unique.
And about Borle, I think the fact that you don't notice him is the point. He's supposed to be a shy nerd in the beginning, and he kind of plays the "straight man" to all the zany characters. I think there's some subtlety to his performance that isn't seen in some of the others. If you see it more than once, you'll notice he's always doing things a little different each time, trying to keep it fresh and spontaneous.
Korenenglish, maybe it's time for another hiatus. Not only was Orfeh amazing last night but I find it hard to believe you were at the same performance I was at. She sounded crystal clear as always and her super high belt was just perfect. Did you also *not* hear the crowd go ballistic after Ireland? I know I'm being hyper sensitive but this is how stupid rumors start and suddenly it gets out of hand. She sure didn't sound or seem like she had a "sore throat" when I saw her at the stage door either. She has a "smokey voice" but not raspy. On the other hand, Bundy sounds like she might need a little vacation and she once again, did not come out after the show to sign. More often than not, she disappears.
Just for the record, I feel like the Tony nominators, *really* gave Borle that nomination for his work in Spamalot which he deserved ALOT more than for his work as Emmett. They do that sort of thing all the time (snub the actor for a role they truly deserved a nod for and then make it up some other time).
Koren, Orfeh is a staunch non smoker and is far from sick, so whomever told you that knows even less than you do.
I should have known better than to post. Buh-bye! Updated On: 7/4/07 at 03:38 PM
Jeeze. She just asked if she smoked. Is it really THAT big of a deal that she asked? I'm sure she didn't mean to insult Orfeh or anything like that. Calm down.
I don't know if that "calm down" was directed at me or Al but I was there and she saw a very different performance than I did and Orfeh sounded more than fine. This can't fall under the "IMO" category, the poster is just plain wrong and shouldn't speculate.
I know Orfeh doesn't smoke for a fact and the comment about her being sick, i'm sorry i didn't make it clear, I overheard someone saying that Orfeh had a sore throat. I love Orfeh and she did an amazing job last night.
The reason people come on boards like this is to ask questions. Korenglish was asking a question. People don't need to be attacked for asking a question. I love Orfeh as much as the next person, but it's a bit extreme to jump on someone who asked an innocent question. That little comment is not going to set off a huge rumor. Don't make it a bigger deal than it is. She got her answer, and that was all. You don't have to get so angry.
Besides, without baseless rumor and speculation, what would we all fight about?

Orfeh's proud to mention throat specialist Dr. Kessler in all of her interviews.
ruprecht and Al Dente, is there a reason you were so harsh? Korenglish wasn't suggesting Orfeh smoked; she asked if she did or not.
The same attitude towards you both would be me chastising you for saying that Laura Bell needs a vacation. How dare you say that! Don't you know she had visitors backstage! How dare you speculate! And so on and so forth.
Both of you need to calm down.
Yeah, wow, Korenglish was just asking a question. No need to say that you'll make sure Orfeh avoids them at the stage door or anything. I understand trying to defend her, but thats just weird.
Anyways, yeah, I've also noticed Orfeh has a somewhat raspy voice, but as Born to Reign said, its part of what makes her unique.
Who was sued by Dame Julie Andrews over her throat operation.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.
BTW, does anyone know without a shadow of a doubt that Orfeh as never smoked?
(This is coming from someone who actually has known Orfeh since some of you weren't even born yet!!!)

She also thanks him in her bio. AlmostX, I started this because I was there last night and like I said, there's no debate, KE was wrong. As for Al, he's known Orfeh longer than all of us put together and I im-ed him the thread and asked him(begged him) to comment on the smoking thing. I know he's had it with this board and pretty much always takes a long leave of absence whenever a certain poster (who shall remain nameless but is best friends with just about anyone who's ever graced a Bway stage), shows up and starts posting frequently. And yes, I was trying to be obvious with my clue. :)
I know, maybe ruprecht, FosterChild & Al Dente (who I'm beginning to suspect are all the same person) will worship me too! NOT!
I am so glad you enjoyed the show LittleEDIEfan595! It is such a fun show!
