just watched the BWW piece on "Legally Blonde" and while i still am not impressed by this show, one thing came out and smacked me in the face.

the staircase piece in "ohmygod you guys" is the EXACT same piece used in lawrence's house for "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" (during "Great Big Stuff") - the same designer, David Rockwell, did both shows.

that's kinda cheap dontcha think?

oh, and christian borle is NO luke wilson.

I hope you meant that as Christian being a waaaaay better actor than Luke Wilson. Also, the staircase thing has been discussed to death when it was first seen in the Broadway.com video for the first day of rehearsal, again when the show opened in San Francisco and again just recently when the "Creating Elle's World" video debuted on Broadway.com.

It looks similar, but it's the same unit.

Look at all of Rockwell's sets. He has a VERY distinctive style that you could easily pick out.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.

It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known.

Amen. David Rockwell is one of my favorite scenic designers. I LOVE the two story exterior and interior of the Delta Nu House in the opening scene of Blonde.

I was impressed with all the Legally Blonde sets too. Everything looked great, and I have to admit that even the set changes themselves were so slick, they were fun to watch. Probably one of the best things about this show was how fast and smooth everything was... they never wasted any time on anything (including switching scenes).

How can you compare Luke Wilson and Christian Borle when you have only seen a five minute video?

In the Legally Blonde movie, the girls' sorority house has a similar staircase as the one in the show.
