Legally Blonde tour set?

No it is not automated. The pieces are pushed on by the cast members for the most part or are flown in. The set is EXTREMELY scaled back from Broadway. While I thought the Broadway set was slick and elaborate without being over the top, I thought the tour's set was just downright tacky. It works though.

So Much Better. I didn't think they would have scaled this number down.

Nikki sounds great!
And what are you talking about? Taking out the lift has been the only change I've seen set wise in all the pictures I've seen of it on Facebook.

Thanks so much for posting
I can't tell with the camera but did they really paint brown door decor on there? Wow,well at least NETWorks didn't do legally blonde-it wouldve been a mess! And any chance of seeing an OMIGOD YOU GUYS video?
And also...is it true there's 2 versions of the set?

^ So true... NetWorks butchers the set design whenever they try to make cutbacks.

I know...hairspray and beauty & the beast where terrific on broadway...and then networks has them akwardly move the set pieces by the actors.
Not that they shouldve installed a track for them for each theatre but they couldve came up with something.!

That's actually not that uncommon. Go look at pretty much all of 9to5's tour set.

Not really much they can do besides employing push bars. (Which some set pieces do)

I saw the first national tour or Hairspray and LOVED it. The second national tour... not so much. The sets looked worn and tired. I also saw Annie. This production had the WORST set I have ever seen. The unit pieces looked like they were about to collapse and the drops were worn, faded, and threadbare. I will be seeing Beauty and the Beast this month. My expectations for the set are not very high.

The scaling down of the current tour is pretty much in line with the equity tour vs. the Broadway version. The biggest change that I noticed was what you can see in So Much Better. It's pretty much the same set-wise, I think.

Yeah, didn't get to see the set yet, hoping to catch it in December.
And yep it's sad...they coudlve found a solution.
And do not get your hopes up for B&TB..apparently it's a "refurbished production".
Belle sounds like she just gave Birth when she sings from what I hear...and its time to stop the tours. It's like the 4th one! Talk about greedy Disney!
Annie is closed, right? The sets mustve been crap after all the productions..and ANOTHER REVIVAL???? what???

The Beauty tour isn't produced by Disney. This is the first tour since the last one closed in 2003.
And it's not the same set that's been used for years. The Annie tour has had a new set since 2007. It's just not a very good one...

I saw the Annie tour when it first started in 2007 and was equity. The sets were passable then, but when I saw it a few years later when it went to non equity and the sets were the same, but were just terribly old and needed touch ups.

I saw it before 2007 then. It was when Marissa O'Donnell was in it. Don't remember the year but it must have been before then.

They get money for use of the rights, but they have no say in how it's produced unless material is changed.
And the Annie tour apparently closed in March.

Annies getting a 2012 revival.
And yeah, isn't the new NETWorks production a reimagined version?
But whatever..haha

I don't get why they don't have the boxes for the Delta Nu's to stand on. They're actually the gondolas with all the costumes on the other side, so it's not like they needed to bring anything extra. I also find it interesting that they have 9 girls for the Greek Chorus in "So Much Better" now. It's either Enid who does a quick change or Brooke who's Delta Nu was only featured in the opening number on the equity tour and broadway because they couldn't have a principal be a part of the ensemble for too much of the show.
