I didn't notice the songs...maybe I zoned out for 5 minutes, maybe they blended in with each other. In fact, that's one of the things I considered great about this show, when, on the rare occasion that the songs did blend together. In my opinion, there was too much room for applause. The show wasn't tight enough in some spots, others it was perfect, and one or two times more, there should have been room to applaud. You know what I mean, Shawk?

What was said about your original post in the community wasn't based off of your opinion or anything of the kind, it was based off the unfounded speculation, and ALL it did was prompt us to go to the source.

All I did when I wrote to Julia was say that I heard something and wanted to get the truth. She's the one who seemed shocked at the implication that 2 songs were cut that were never even planning to be. I don't mind opinions or anything of the kind, however, there ARE members of this board who follow this show extremely closely, so when we hear of a change, we jump on it to find out when, why, and most definitely, is it for sure?

If you were offended by the Live Journal community posts, I'm sorry, they weren't meant to offend anyone. They were just a cry out from loving fans of this show.

I understand completely, Starbuck, and as I said, I probably didn't notice the songs. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I will be seeing it again. All's well that end's well.

There's a lot of transitions going on with the show, so I'm not sure I can compare what I saw in SF to what you saw with any accuracy. I do think that some songs had too much transition and others didn't have enough, but that's what previews are for, to find those things and alter them. But overall, I really enjoyed the show as it was then.

I think the show and the actors have a lot of heart. Hopefully it will all come together and realize the potential I saw in SF.

Yankeefan007- It's great to hear that you will be going back to see the show again. In my opinion it is a fun show with great music and a very talented cast. It's good to hear that some other people are enjoyign it as well.

Also, does anyone know why they were videotaping the show this past Wednesday? They had 2 cameras in the audience (official cameras with seats infront of the roped off and stuff)in the audience taping the show. Anybody know why?????

3 cameras, i noticed, one in each section of the orchestra. im assuming that they were recording the show for press clips for shows like On Stage on NY1.

Yeah that's what I figured too. I was going to ask one of the camera guys what it was for, but I stayed to clap for the band (always gotta show the band some love in my opinion) and by the time I was walking out of the theatre the camera guys were not near the cameras. Oh well....

I would have to agree with you. The band is awesome. I always try to stay after to applaud the band when they finish playing because I always feel like they work so hard the whole show and then everyone runs out at the end of the show and forgets about them... hehehe... gotta spread the band love... :)

I was there at yesterday's matinee too, and as a long time Lennon fan, was a bit skeptical, but came away loving the show very much. It was a musical biography of a very fascinating person, a bit political, a bit funny (the India scene!), and of course tragic at the end.
I like the way it was done, with lots of performers portraying John Lennon, but he was a very complex person to begin with.
The ensemble was terrific, and we bought a poster and had it signed by 8 of 9, missing TM, bummer! I liked him as David Frost (I remember watching it on tv way back when) The Ed Sullivan scene, a nice twist too. Don't want to give away too much.
Hopefully, this will be the sleeper hit of the year, from the reaction of yesterday's audience, it may well be.

I hope this show will come out and be a hit too -- It may take a little time to build momentum, but I'm hoping that audience response will be MORE positive than negative.

I'm currently putting together a Fan Site for the show, with information on it, the cast, the songs, the SF version and the Broadway version... pictures, media clips, press, etc. It's not done, but I might as well give out the address to those who may be interested in seeing it.

Just remember, it's not finished yet. I'm still in construction. If you're a fan of the show, remember to spread the good word, because it's just one of those shows that'll get pre-judged because of the subject matter and rumors of how the show's done. :)
