Forgive me, if this has been previously discussed, but is there any chance at all that the new revival of Les Mis will head into the recording studio for a new CR?
You can take it to the bank it will.
Personally, I doubt it. There are so many recordings and this physical production was already recorded with the 25th anniversary tour cast recording, but if the demand is high and Cameron wants to put up the cash, it could happen.
If it does get recorded I would love it if they preserve the full score as it's performed today. The tour recording has a lot of arbitrary cuts which is so random since they recorded it live.

My thoughts exactly. Plus, that cast sounds 1,000 times better than the current Broadway cast.
What 25th Anniversay Tour Cast Recording? Is it on iTunes? I can't find it anywhere
I HIGHLY recommend that recording, by the way. It is marvelous.
I suppose a studio recording with the new orchestrations would bring something new to the table.
The 2010 Live recording is fantastic! Madalena Alberto (Fantine) is stunning... check out her youtube videos from her in the tour too! Its like an acting masterclass!
The 25th anniversary UK tour recording is exactly why I assumed there wouldn't be another English-language recording for a long time (there isn't even one of the 25th anniversary concert). But since Ramin is Cameron Mackintosh's new pet, who knows. There could be a single release just of Bring Him Home and scratch-and-sniff abs in the liner notes.
Don't tease me, Lizzie! Although, if we don't get a recording would it still be possible to put scratch-and-sniff abs in the souvenir brochure?
