Looked through the first two pages on the forum, and didn't see a thread discussing the tour preview video uploaded on BWW.
The preview video increased my anticipation for this new tour. I'm always eager to see a new cast in my favorite musical, but it looks like CamMac has actually put some energy and thought into this new tour. If you recall the Broadway revival, the producers claimed that it would be refreshed and different, and of course they only changed a few costumes and notes. But the preview video shows different staging and (slightly) different choreography. I feel realistically hopeful that this production will be top notch.

The production itself is phenomenal. Deserves to end up on Broadway sometime in the future. The cast looks god-awful though. Not a patch on the original tour cast.
Really shouldn't be touring the US like that...

The direction she went in was the same as Rosalind James, the original Eponine. Except Rosalind James was better.
This seems to be a poor attempt to make Les Misérables seem more earthy and more 'working class hero', so they hire people who shouldn't really be playing the roles - Come on, I thought the only two worth a mention in that cast were Cossette and Javert.
Even the chorus looked forced and like they couldn't be bothered.
At least I have the recording to remind me how amazing this production can be.

They have similar interpretations, but the have differences. Chasen went to a place of something close to rage which I thought was an interesting choice. I did like Rosalind though.
Are you basing this all off a press release of them in a rehearsal space before they open? I find it interesting you could infer so much about it from three songs. Javert and Cosette barely have anything to do in those numbers.

I was really impressed with Chasen... her take on the role was so different than what I've seen... and yeah it bordered on anger but not so much... i've seen angry Eponines but hers was more I want to be angry but I can't... and she had a very soulful voice which I loved... I was just intrigued watching/listening to her! and for those of you that watch FRINGE on Fox... she reminded me of Jasika Nicole! haha

Given the long history of this show, Rosalind James was not the first to go in the angry, dispirited direction.
Anyway, I was impressed by all the cast members featured in the preview.

That's exactly what i'm doing.

This must be like the September 2008 Wolftrap and Theatre of the Stars production, which I saw at West Point in August 2008.
p.s. Visualize a zooming projection of a chaotic Paris street scene on a giant cyclorama (behind the red flag) at the back of the stage. The effect is that they really are marching down the street.

ClapYo'Hands,
You do realize that it's one thing to judge a performance after you have seen it but it is another thing altogether to judge based on a two min video from them rehearsal.

Opened Friday at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey. I'm onboard for tonight's show; but has anyone here already seen a performance?
p.s. SPOILER ALERT! I'm not sure if the start of actual reviews and performance detail calls for a SPOILER ALERT.
pps: I personally don't mind spoilers, but -- Who am I?

It's a perfectly viable thing to do. Those are my opinions based on what i've seen. If one's opinion changes after seeing it, that's fine.
